I hate to say this, but what kind of monsters do we have in this country who, just after this horrific event, 8% are NOT behind our President? Perhaps I'm expecting too much.

Gee, I wonder who is part of that 8%? Peter Jennings, Joe Conason, the NYT Editorial page, blah, blah, blah. It's sickening.

At this point about 95% of the country wants us to declare war, and do it decisively and effectively. We want all terrorist training camps WIPED OUT. In the following days, and we move from sadness and numbness to a clearer picture of the actual tragic consequences of this attack, the number will go up to about 98%. I anticipated upwards of 20,000 casualties yesterday at about noon. Now the official word confirms that. Our railroad stations for commuter travel here in Northern New Jersey where I live are full of cars that have been there since yesterday morning. I'm 20 miles north of the George Washington Bridge, and often work in Fort Lee, which is the first town you go through once you're off the Bridge outbound. I've yet to find out how many of my own neighbors are not coming back. People are still hanging onto the thinnest of hopes that friends and spouses they haven't heard from will either be rescued or somehow turn up alive. We must hold onto the anger we feel, and not descend into weepy therapy-talk, which is what I've been hearing more than anything else for the last 36 hours. Action must be taken by this Administration within a very short time span or all may be lost. This is the first expression we have experienced of high-tech 21st Century guerrilla warfare and we'd better deal with it the right way. All talk of ways to improve airport security, Intelligence failures etc., are diversionary and beside the point right now. We must strike, and strike hard.

The same thing happened in '91 when we started bombing Iraq. Took about 2 weeks before programming returned to normal.

Also remember that Pappy Bush had a 91% approval...two years before he was thrown overboard for Slick Willie.

Perhaps the 8% are our college proffesors? All a bunch of marxist idiots! Actually, I happen to be a college professor! So, I have a minor correction for you. Rather than "All", I'd say about 92% is more accurate.
