Sleep lightly terrorist, and Fear us
Arizona Tribune | 9-12-01 | Jim Ripley

I may not know your name, but I know what bothers cowardly curs like you.

You can't stand the thought of a country where Catholic and Prostestant, Jew and Mormon, Muslim and nonbeliever live, work and play side by side.

Your tormented by the existence of a state where the rule of law triumphs again and again over the rule of the gun.

You think we're weak because men and women have the freedom to make their own decisions about how they want to live their lives.

You're enraged by our economic success. Success that threatens your tyranny because the Internet is shredding the cloak of ignorance that empowers you.

You tremble in anger at our music and our art and our movies. Our culture is spreading over the world because it is rooted in freedom of expression and fed by the high-energy stew of

Hispanic-American
African-American
European-American
Asian-American and
Middle Eastern-American.

You shoot your pathetic rifles into the air in protest of our military might and fight from behind the cover of children and civilians who've done you no harm.

Well, you hurt us today. You killed thousands of American men, women and children. You destroyed a national landmark and monument to our success. Commerce, air traffic, even sports came to a halt across this great land. Our airplanes will soon be back in the air. The markets will open and the business of America will resume.

Our artistic expression will be reshaped by the sorrow of September 11, and in the end stregthened.

On the graves of the dead, flowers will bloom. You will be Tribune Executive Editor Jim Ripley may be reached via e-mail at hunted down and destroyed. And our way of life will march on.

We'll show you what we're made of, you son of a bitches.

Your tormented by the existence of a state.."

I can hardly believe the Arizona Tribune publishes authors who do not know that 'your' is not the contraction for 'you are' - which is: you're. The lack of education is beyond belief.

Anyone notice that the usual suspects are all shouting that they didn't do it?

They're scared. Let's show them WHY they should be scared.

There is a certain terror in wondering if death is imminent.

Saddam Hussein, Ben Laden, the leaders of Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia, Arab Emirates, and Iran should be sleeping with one eye open.

Replace it with a graphic of a Trident II missile flight profile and that might be closer to the truth.

To those responsible for killing innocents:

You can't run and you can't hide.

Even in the dark depths of your cowardly existence the light of truth will expose you.

Be afraid, be VERY afraid.

Can you imagine what a couple hundred warheads and bombs going off over the Middle East would look like from orbit?

Imagine a REALLY big fireworks display...

Hymn Before Action

by Rudyard Kipling

The earth is full of anger,
The seas are dark with wrath,
The Nations in their harness
     Go up against our path:
Ere yet we loose the legions
Ere yet we draw the blade,
Jehovah of the Thunders,
     Lord God of Battles, aid!

High lust and froward bearing,
     Proud heart, rebellious brow--
Deaf ear and soul uncaring,
     We seek Thy mercy now!
The sinner that forswore Thee,
The fool that passed Thee by,
Our times are known before Thee--
Lord, grant us strength to die!

For those who kneel beside us
     At altars not Thine own,
Who lack the lights that guide us,
     Lord, let their faith atone!
If wrong we did to call them,
     By honour bound they came;
Let not Thy Wrath befall them,
But deal to us the blame.

From panic, pride, and terror
     Revenge that knows no rein--
Light haste and lawless error,
     Protect us yet again.
Cloke Thou our undeserving,
     Make firm the shuddering breath,
In silence and unswerving
     To taste Thy lesser death.

Ah, Mary pierced with sorrow,
     Remember, reach and save
The soul that comes to-morrow
     Before the God that gave!
Since each was born of woman,
     For each at utter need--
True comrade and true foeman--
     Madonna, intercede!

E'en now their vanguard gathers,
E'en now we face the fray--
As Thou didst help our fathers,
     Help Thou our host to-day.
Fulfilled of signs and wonders,
In life, in death made clear--
Jehovah of the Thunders,
     Lord God of Battles, hear!

Perhaps the typist made the mistake, and what difference does it make anyway? Why worry about this now of all times?

Also: you son of a bitches should be you sons of bitches.

But who is keeping track. I agree with the sentiment.

LOL, Yep that's right..The correct way the article read was, "We'll show you what we're made of, you son of a bitch".

I loved the spunk of this article and the Tribune does not have a website, so the typos are all mine and after a 12 hour work day, I could give a rat's ass what you people think about it. :^)
