Should the NFL play this Sunday?

In response to a question posed this evening by AM760's John McCullough. "Should the NFL play this Sunday?" The answer I believe is obvious. "HELL YES!!!" Yes, we mourn. Yes, we are outraged. And yes, we will extract a terrible vengeance on those responsible and all who harbour them. But NO, we will not allow you to cripple us or cower us. And for any NFL executives reading this vanity, I agree with the caller who suggested that the American Flag replace all team logos at midfield and in the endzones.

Of course they should play if the planes can fly. It would be silly to close down this nation and really hand a victory to the terrorists.

I think you will find out soon that there are more terrorists loose in America who would love to set off a low yield suitcase nuke in a confined area with 80,000 Americans celebrating the national pasttime. Sort of an American icon if you get my drift.
Just a hunch though.

I think they should. As a nation, we can't keep obsessing over the same video footage day after day. I'd like to see some special observance during the games obviously.

You must have seen that movie, with Bruce Dern or some name like that. I suspect Bin Laden has played his hand, perhaps with a bit of luck, permanently. I sure hope that the US uses this as an opportunity to apply irresitible pressure on all terrorist states to turn over the the bad guys. This is simply too good a window of opportunity to pass up the chance to clean house, world wide.

Well, I hope to be watching live coverage of our destruction of a number of capitol cities of terrorist-loving countries on Sunday!
But if I can't have that I'll settle for the NFL. Sua Sponte ODA 111 (1SFGA)

You want to watch a Football game? Thousands of dead innocent civilians were "Pearl Harbored." Quit being a spectator.

Nope.

Maybe we should run this longer than the Princess Diane affair. This nation even after Pearl Harbor knew it needed to get back to living as well as fighting.

I hate football but this country needs to live. We don't need to tie ourselves to a stupid TV weeping and gnashing our teeth and going nuts in the process.
Yes I get it but do you?

All the major sports cancelled games this weekend...even soccer in Europe. Yet American Football continues?! How about a weekend of respect for the people that are gone? I can live without bread and circuses for one weekend.

I suggest you tape all this wall to wall covering and watch it over the next three weeks. I suggest that people who need some time off so they can get back to living and fighting enjoy whatever game they so desire. I wonder who will best be able to do their duty for their country.

Maybe if we keep making a big deal about it everyday -- they'll ignore it...
