Had It With Peter Jennings? Let ABC Know Here...

It seems that in the last two days, everytime I switched on ABC News coverage, Peter Jennings was spewing some criticism of the president. Now I like Canadians just as much as the next guy but I've had just about a belly-full of this assho!e. And I'm sure I'm not alone.

Email ABC News by clicking here and let them know that you don't appreciate some high school drop-out like Peter Jennings criticizing your president when Jennings isn't even a citizen of the United States.

My email to ABC:

I am absolutely sickened by the biased, unintelligent, and thoughtless coverage by Peter Jennings on the attack on the US.

His constant questioning regarding the 'mental capacity' of President Bush totally undermines this country, especially in a time when the country needs to be united behind the President. In addition, Mr. Jennings continual whining regarding not knowing where the President was in route to yesterday was incredibly selfish, unintelligent, thoughtless, and just plain stupid. If the average American can understand why his whereabouts are not revealed, then why and the world can't a national television news anchor? And now that we know that Air Force One and the White House were targets, Mr. Jennings thoughtless whining makes me sick.

I vowed to never watch your network after the election coverage and made the mistake of tuning in yesterday when I thought I'd see objective coverage.

I will not make that mistake again.

Posted my response. FYI - here it is:

To whom it may concern:

During this time of national crisis, while I have been unusually impressed by the behavior of most politicians, of both parties, in their public comments, I have, however, been quite distressed by the reporting of Peter Jennings, and his persistence in criticising President Bush - even going as far to suggest that this tragedy was somehow caused by our president taking a hands-off approach in the Middle East crisis. Putting aside, for the moment, the completely inappropriate timing of such a suggestion, let me point out that we now know that terrorists began planning for this attack as early as July of 2000, when the hijackers enrolled in pilot traning classes. This was before President Bush was even elected, and during a time when the United States, under the leadership of former President Clinton, was intensely involved in the Middle East crisis. Indeed, many at the time suggested that President Clinton's intense efforts to achieve peace in that region were motivated by his desparate search for a legacy, to replace the scandals that had scarred his presidency. Indeed, others also speculated that President Clinton's bombing of the Sudan may have been motivated, in part, by his desire to detract attention from these scandals.

So if we're going to inappropriately speculate about blame, let's at least have a basis in reality. These terrorists do not want peace, and when the United States was pushing for peace, we became their enemy. These terrorists do not want their factories bombed and their leaders killed, and when we dropped bombs on them, we became their enemy. This makes sense. But saying that President Bush's reasonable decision that United States cannot set the timetable for peace is somehow the cause, is not reasonable.

Also, no matter what provoked these terrorists to target the United States - whether or not it was actions taken or not taken by presidents Clinton or Bush - it is completely irrelevent, because in either case, under no decent code of human behavior are their actions justifiable. These are the actions of irrational, perverted, evil creatures. I can't even call them animals, they are even lower forms of life than this. Even animals have more honorable codes of behavior. So when you try to explain the behavior of these creatures by trying to understand their provocation, you elevate them to the status of rational, thinking human beings. And they do not deserve this status.

I was wondering if anyone sending off emails to ABC News was getting anything more than a canned response.

Definitly, a change of diet is indicated.

I am happy to see these posts. At first, I thought it may be just me who thinks this way about Jennings. He is a disgrace, as is ABC. Perhaps they are both on Osama Bin Laden's payroll.

I sent mine to both sites:

Re: Peter Jennings

If this sorry excuse you call a news anchor cannot even set aside his obvious dislike for our President during a time of national crisis he should be removed from the air. This is a time for our country to be united - not divided. Even former President Clinton and former Vice President Gore spoke yesterday about the country rallying behind the President. That this was a time for our country to band together and to give the President time to form a plan of action. And, further, that they were confident that he would do what was right for the country. I believe they meant the entire country and not just the Republicans.

To hear this obvious hatred and more to the point, obvious attempt to continue to divide our country now is unacceptable. Peter Jennings and the ABC news is permanently tuned out at my house starting immediately. There is time enough before 2004 to play these partisian political games. Do the country and yourselves a favor and send him back to Canada.

Here is what I sent them:

Mr. Jennings is a pretentious, condescending, uninformed, arrogant, unpatriotc, twit.

Mr. Jennings remarks on air during this crisis are most unbecoming, unashamedly biased and go beyond being partisan, into the realm of the unpatriotic, except Mr. Jennings is not an American, but a Canadian, nad a poorly educated,(this writer has four degrees, and two Ivy affiliations, so he knows a college drop-out like Mr. Jennings when he sees one) but stubbornly condescending and arrogant one, to boot.

Mr. Jennings was rude to Sen. Hatch, campaigned on-air for the last two days for the return of Bill Clinton, criticized numerous times President Bush in a time of National crisis and emergency and is imply OUT OF CONTROL.

He is also OUT OF TOUCH with the sensibilities of most Americans by ctiticising the President, especially in this time of crisis.

Most anchor-men would be too embarassed or reticent to so overtly and arrogantly portray their love of a disreputable ex-president whicle criticizing an honorable and good man like Mr. Bush in a time of WAR.

Mr. Jennings has beeen on air and in "power" too long and now suffers teh Geraldo-Bryant Gumbel raging, but unwarranted, ego syndrome.

Isn't it high time you put Mr. Jennings out to pasture?

P.S. If Brian Williams is a candidate, he utterly disqualified himself yesterday with reports of his rude, impudnet, inapproriate, arrogant, churlish, unpatriotic, and biased performance in an interview with Counselor to the President Karen Hughes yesterday in which he reportedly said to her re: Pres. Bush:

"Maybe he doen't know who the customers are"

(because Presidnet Bush wasn't personally available at that very moment for an exclusive interview with Mr. Williams, but ws attending to National security issues at the time).

Peter Jennings was whinning because Pres. Bush had not "officially" addressed the country by noon. My thought was that I'd prefer the President do his job by handling the situation rather than "soothe" the American public. What a loser, Jennings sucks@

If yesterday was bad with Jennings.....tonight was far worse.....he was so mad.....he even attacked his female colleague reporting from D.C. that a prominent demonrat had said that the number one priority of this nation is DEFENSE.

My email to World News Tonight. I normally wouldn't criticize a person's education, but I've heard that Jennings is sensitive about his lack of a high school diploma, and, given his egregious criticism of Bush's "mental capacity," I thought I'd rub a little salt in the wound:
I haven't watched network news in years, but recent events have required that I do so. It's fascinating to see what passes for intelligent commentary among the "Big Three" anchors.

Peter Jennings is in a class by himself.

After looking passed Jennings' perfectly coifed hair and handsome visage, after listening closely to his mellifluous voice and superficially eloquent grammar, one comes hard upon his tenth grade education.

He is a bozo whose next original thought will be his first.
