GOVERNMENT INCOMPETENCE, LACK OF HONESTY WITH AMERICAN PEOPLE LEAD TO TERRORIST DISASTERS OF SEPTEMBER 11, 2001
(Washington, DC, September 12, 2001) Larry Klayman, Chairman and General Counsel of Judicial Watch, the public interest law firm that investigates and prosecutes government corruption, today issued the following statement concerning the horrific terrorist attack on the United States, on a day September 11, 2001 that, even more than Pearl Harbor, will live in infamy.
It is now apparent given the near total lack of security at U.S. airports and elsewhere that the U.S. government has not been forthright with the American people. During the last eight years of scandal during the Clinton administration, and the first eight months of the Bush Administration, reports this morning confirm that little to nothing was done to secure our nations airports and transportation systems as a whole despite warnings.
Instead, cosmetic reform of education, social security, taxes, and other less important issues were given precedence. In addition, the American people were lead to believe that appropriate anti-terrorist counter measures were being taken. Instead of telling the truth so the problems could be addressed, politicians painted a rosy picture in order to be elected and re-elected.
Judicial Watch will use its investigative powers to look into the obvious breach of the peoples trust by a government which should not only have been candid, but also have taken steps to defend them.
Judicial Watch offers it condolences and sympathy to the dead and wounded, and their families, and prays that the nation will overcome this tragedy, Klayman added.
I haven't seen Pat Buchanan's statement but I would be shocked if it too was not very supportive of President Bush.
Even some of our enemies (Cuba?) have issued supportive statements.
Klayman's animosity toward President Bush must run very deep. One poster suggested that he wants to run for President as a third party candidate.
A relative of the man who died in the Pa. plane crash (after saying he was going to try to stop the hijacking) found comfort in knowing he didn't die in vain, that his actions may have saved the lives of others. We are involved in more than a culture war now. Larry's on the wrong side, IMHO.
ChaseR said on a recent post that he talked to Klayman on his radio show and that klayman said that they were going to be taking some action in the Loral case that was dismissed last year, but I would be surprised. There are statute of limitation problems.

FYI, I have not advocated supporting Klayman financially for a LONG time. I have publically AGREED, on numerous occasions that Klayman's recent actions are wrong. I have had NO OBJECTION to those who CONFINED their criticism of him to those activities.
I do, however, dispute those, like Bayourod, who apparently think no crimes were committed in Filegate, Chinagate, the death of Foster, the death of Brown. He was just plain dishonest in his last post. Do you deny that? Furthermore, I dispute the contention that Klayman could have really done ANYTHING about the CRIMINAL matters his investigations uncovered. That was and STILL IS the responsibility of the DOJ. Do you dispute that?
And when you get done answering, PERHAPS we can get back to focusing on the THOUSANDS of dead Americans, what is currently happening and what we should do about it. Obviously, Klayman doesn't need any help fading into obscurity, does he?
Our president has made very attempt to provide compassion and consolation to the victims, and he will do more in the future. Even the Democrats are supporting our president.
Just what is it you would expect him to do?

Wrong; they smack him every chance they get. OTOH, they will likely support him now, during this crisis, because it is the American thing to do.
Why not join the witless Peter Jennings, Tim Russert and other sorry bastards who do not support him?
Some of these posters apparently haven't heard that even the Democrats are supporting our president, at least publicly.
