"The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he, who in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who would attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee."
--- Jules from Pulp Fiction (paraphrasing Ezekiel)
"In this storm-tossed world of terrorists and totalitarians, America must always champion freedom, for freedom is the one tide that will lead us to the safe and open harbor of peace."

Arm yourselves, and be ye men of valour, and be in readiness for the conflict; for it is better for us to perish in battle than to look upon the outrage of our nation and our altar."

For my money, if you want a battle to the utter annihilation of a civilization, it's gotta be the third Punic war.
Twice Hannibal has led Carthage against Rome. Twice he's had all of Rome pissing in their togas. Hannibal is now dead and so is Scipio Africanus Major, the man who defeated him in the second Punic war. Now Scipio Africanus Minor leads the Roman legions in North Africa. Rome is no longer pissing... it is pissed.
The siege of the city Carthage begins. The problem for Rome is that Carthage has a superb port on the Mediterranean. The Carthaginans were better sailors and so were able to keep the city supplied. The Romans were better engineers however. They built a huge earthenwork dam effectively closing the great port of Carthage. The siege then took its toll and when Rome sacked the city, it was a total massacre.
Before the third Punic war, Rome and Carthage were equals. Afterward, Carthage no longer existed. We only know where it is today because there remains evidence of what is perhaps the most ambitious military project ever. After the Romans had destroyed the city. They then salted the earth. They used one of the most valuable substances in the ancient world to ensure that the once abundant earth around Carthage would be fruitless for generations. They destroyed a civilization and made sure it would never rise again.
These vermin have proved that they cannot exist in a civilized world of nations. They need to be eradicated once and for all.
May have God have Mercy, because I don't.
