The U.S.A. must win the war on 'Drugs' and 'Oil'.
These are the primary targets!
Cut off their access to the monies.

Returning to the 'air?' from a couple of days volunteering at the local blood bank - higher turnout than in Gulf Storm.
The U.S.A. must win the war on 'Drugs' and 'Oil'.
I think that I disagree here, IF IT IS ISLAMIC FUNDUMENTALISTS. They are attacking our civilization and culture, they don't care about our problems with drugs or oil other than that they are happy we are having problems. I agree that we would be stronger if we could put these 2 problems behind us, but we probably would have been attacked anyway.

Stop supporting Zionism and the terrorism will go away without any need to curtail our civil liberties.

I think cutting off access between the cockpit and the passenger cabins is a good idea. What happens when your Crew, Attendants and Passengers, start being killed one by one until you open the door? I wouldn't want to make that decision.
Also we should perhaps return to having armed Sky Marshals on flights.
Agreed!

Bonanza armed it's pilots. A real bonanza for lawyers in today's world I'm afraid, for obvious reasons!

I did a job for a pilot friend of mine, and I asked him why the flight attendants and pilots at least carry some sort of 'mace' or 'pepper spray'. He said the FAA would not let flight crews have it on board. Can you believe it? The FAA prevents flight crews from having ready access to what, a $5-10 piece of safety equipment that would likely have prevented all this from happening? After all, what good is a knife when you can't see anything and are temporarily disabled? Incredible, isn't it?

I cannot enter a courthouse without turning over a small penknife at the door. It is not my inherent "right" to carry that within that building. There are armed guards within that building and I am not required to enter; I have the choice not to. Why should I be alarmed at being required to do the same when entering an aircraft? Good points and they have validity. When I choose to go on an airliner, I choose to accept their rules.

...and reorganize them under our suzeranity. I fear for the practicality of your 'solution'. We attack any country that has any inhabitant who is anti-US. Either we end up controlling all other countries or all become our enemies in self-defense.

At minimum 1,000 muslems should die for each American injured or killed. This sounds a lot like what the Nazi's did to fight the Allied Resistance and is equally odious. How would you choose the 1000 Muslems - would you too condem the innocent? The guilty yes, but I think better of you than to kill the innoceent.
If oil is used as a threat, consider that a terrorist act.
Yes

Many precious things will be destroyed in the coming struggle. Places we knew. People we loved. Things we had. Things we used to do. Yet this is our destiny and burden. On with the fight. God bless America.Same as "The Battle of Britain" - Their Finest Hour, but 1938 England was greatly changed to become 1946 England.

I think cutting off access between the cockpit and the passenger cabins is a good idea. Then you're going to have to redesign the planes to include separate bathroom facilities for the cockpit crew. And the ability to prepare their own meals, instead of having them delivered by the "steward/esse/s".
I don't think the flight crews are going to go for it, terrorists or not. It would be easier to train the cockpit crews to be heartless SOBs that will sacrifice the lives of the rest of the crew and passengers on board before putting flying bombs in the hands of whatever terrorists might be on board.

IMO we have seen the end of airplane hijackings. Your arguments are logical but that means that the next hijacking will use a bottle of acid carried on as perfume! Hijackers will use common things to attack us.

What we do have to do is to break their will to resist, and impose new government on them. That is not impossible, if we have the will.IF this was religious fanaticism, it will be most difficult to overcome. I think that it will be a very long fight!

Besides the obvious, air marshalls, etc. I offer a Marine Corps proverb.
The best defense is to counter-attack at least three times a day.

If we kill the head, there will be no one to organize the ones crazy enough to do this stuff. Requires the political will to accept the inevitable fall out. Neither Bush-41 nor Clinton saw fit to accept this risk, I hope Bush-43 will.
