I shall try not to comment or editorialize, but it's hard, it's hard. Just look at this letter to the editor in Pravda. (And before you give me grief about reading it, how different is if from the Boston Globe??)
Look:
JAMES HECKEL: WE TRULY DESERVED TO BE BOMBED
Dear Editor,
Firstly, I must commend you on a well-done website. I found it to be excellent and easy to browse. Good show!
Secondly, as a citizen of the US, let me add my voice of outrage over my country's cowardly, imperialistic attacks on the rest of the world. We truly deserved to be bombed. We have a saying here in America "What goes around comes around". This means that the way you treat others will be the way others treat you, and if others treat you badly, you probably deserve it.
Please note that what our government is doing DOES NOT reflect the desires of the average American. These decisions are made by the few in power, and not by us. We want this imperialism to come to an end, but who listens?
We had a sham election that put Bush in power, despite the fact that he lost the popular vote. I ask PRAVDA.Ru to let the world know that "democracy" and "freedom" here in America are total lies. The only thing that matters to the power brokers is what Bill Gates and other imperialists want.
I predict that the United States won't exist as a superpower much longer. If you want evidence, you need look no further than England or France. They were superpowers; now they are not. I would encourage those in Europe, Asia and the rest of the world to boycott American goods and buy only from your own countries. That would be a big help.

Good luck! You have my permission to publish my real name and hometown. I am not at all ashamed of my opinions.
James Heckel
Arlington Virginia
United States of Aggression
Sincerely,
Jim H.
I love it when citizens who are too ignorant to understand the American political system nonetheless feel qualified to critize America.
What a clymer.
Nevertheless, it is sitting out there on a news site for the world to see, and people should know about it. And if this person is the victim of a forgery, the truth should out shortly.
If it were posted to fulfill a defamatory or political objective, a person who would take this opportunity to capitalize on such a tragedy needs to be rooted out by Law Enforcement.

I would be careful about taking this letter at face value. I have a lot of problems with the libertarians, but the name "James Heckel" does not pop up on my Google search in any formal association with the Libertarian party (no web site references, previously-published letters, etc.). Unless I see verifiable proof that this joker in any way speaks for or is an activist for libertarians, I'm inclined to believe that this is simply agitprop.
What do you say that? This is exactly the same, America-hating and cowardly tripe that is being pushed by Harry Browne, Antiwar.com, LewRockwell.com, and Joe Sobran.
I don't think so. This is either a gore voter, or a greenie, and probably using a false name or the name of someone that he would like to harm.
I believe this letter is the reason why I would never be a Libritarian.
Misguided and deceived!
As well as Michael Rivero and Raimondo from antiwar.com ... it all sounds the same.
same guy?
