The fact that he stopped to call his wife, one last time, to tell her he loved her, should probably put him over the top. It was a very tender, touching, and triumphant-over-death-and-terror thing to do.
It broke my heart to hear the firefighters speaking messages to their wives on the live radio broadcast yesterday from the scene at the WTC. They were letting their wives know, through tears, that they made it out alive. Such love. How wonderful.
