My daughter has a friend who enlisted in the Air Force two years ago. He fixes planes. He's stationed in TX. He got notified just a little bit ago. He was told to get a good nights sleep because he was going to be very busy starting tomorrow. (They chat with him online almost every day).

Far be it from me to reveal our troop movements to the enemy, but I just got a call from a family member that my cousin's husband, (in the Navy) just got orders to ship out ASAP. He has...uh...special skills. We don't know where he's heading.

My son-in-law is on this ship. He had about a month and a half left of a six-month tour. I'm going to have to break this news to my daughter when she gets home from work tonight unless she has already heard it up on Whidbey Island. She is going to be a wreck.
Any Navy vets have any insight about whether he'll be coming home at the end of the six months? I'm sure they have another carrier who will be deployed there in rotation. Will they keep two there?
