Amidst all the blather on TV, by the usual talking heads and many so-called experts, it is surprising to me what is NOT being discussed. Much credence is being given to the probability that Osama is responsible for the attacks, that supposedly he gave an interview some weeks ago threatening to take the Jihad to the US...Well, he's been giving these

interviews for years. So, can we ask, why did he attack the US and, why now?..Is there any significance to today as the date? I believe that one of the sheiks in the earlier WTC bombing is to be sentenced tomorrow? Could this be a reason?

Why would he chose to escalate the war with the US to this level now? There has to be more to it?

Also, given the obvious capabilities of the terrorist organization, as has been sadly demonstrated today, I fear thatwe are locking the barn door after the cow has been stolen. Sadly, it is highly likely in my opionion that in the next day or so we will see additional acts of terrorism, totally different from what we have just experienced, designed to further shake the American public. These crashes do not make sense in the context of an isolated one-day incident. We cannot protect all the power plants, all the dams, all the ball parks, etc.....sadly....

I do not have any answers, but I feel that the important questions are NOT being asked.

BTW, on a local note, as I type this Mayor Guiliani is giving a press conference. This may well be the finest hour of his 8 years of service. The mayoral primary in NYC was cancelled, and they should , IMHO, cancel he election for the next four years. Imagining Mark Greene or Freddy Ferrer as mayor during somethign like thgis is almost as frightening as the bombing itself...
