My son had another co-worker today whose sister called her husband at the WTC and he said he was okay but was going to stay in the building, and about 5 minutes later it collapsed. I am sure we all will know or know about a few who perished in the buildings. I cannot believe it all even now.

Fox News said that the plane that crashed into the Pentagon was orginally flying towards the White House but made a sharp turn into the Pentagon.

It is so horrible. Another young woman in his branch spent all day trying to get in touch with her father who worked there too. As of 6:00 tonight she hadn't heard from him. My stepson's friend was luckier. He had a meeting there this morning, but decided not to go in and they had a teleconference instead!

I hope all is well with everyone. I live in the NYC area and have been unable to go online today, as I tried to account for loved ones.

I've had a rollercoaster couple of days.

My daughter, Shea Catherine, was born Saturday morning at 4:26. She is beautiful beyond words. My beautiful wife is well, but suffering tremendous pain from the after effects of the birth. She will be fine.

This morning I opened the door to our home and got a delivery bouquet. As I closed the door, my phone rang. My brother told me to turn on the TV.

I could not believe what I was seeing. My feelings of joy turned in to horror as I watched.

My first thoughts were for my family. My sister and brother work in the Travelers building a few blocks away. My sister-in-law worked in WTC number 7. I have so many friends who work down there.

Thankfully, all my family has been accounted for and are fine. All my closest friends are also well.

My brother ran from his building and watched from 6th Ave. as the first tower collapsed. He is in the muni-bond field, and knew about 40 people who worked on the top floors. He is one of the toughest individuals I've ever known, but he's been crying all day. He watched 10,000 people, including his friends die today. My sister watched from her office as the second plane came in. She has dozens of business associates and friends that she watched perish.

It's so unbelievable.

I'm waiting for the phone calls to begin arriving tomorrow. I have a large circle of friends from college, from volunteer work I do, family friends, former coworkers. I'm sure the bad news will begin pouring in.

I looked at the NYC skyline today. It is a skyline I've seen as long as I can remember. Now, there is that hole where the WTC has always been. I can't believe it is gone.

But I am so unbelievably blessed. I have two wonderful children, and my family is safe. I'm so sorry that not everyone is as fortunate as I.

One of my husbands newphews is a fireman in New York. This morning his unit was called to go to the WTC.

His wife just called us tonight and told us that 11 of his fellow firefighters in his unit are missing.

She said that he is Ok physically and only got some cuts ,but they ,the rest of his unit are pulling in to work....... all the men that have been on disability from their fire dept. there to see if they can help out.

He is a hero to us all. God Bless him too! He will never forget what he saw today. The fellow on Fox this evening said he would not show the photos they took today at the base of the WTC becuase they were so awful.

That news gave me chills. Oh HLL this is a nightmare and I am so angry.

Your post reminds me of a caller earlier on a talk show here we get from Los Angeles area. The caller said his wife called and said she missed the plane back there to Los Angeles and would take a later flight.

We have lost so many thousands today to the madmen, and, inevitably, we'll lose more as efforts are made to save what the madmen missed.
