Darn, this thing was sophisticated when you look at the number of things that had to go right and did.
Wonder who did it. There aren't many outfits this good, and not usually third world fanatics. Much slicker than a truck bomb.
And yes, looking around any airport will quickly convince you that lots of people with access to the airplane never had a background check.

I understand a stew on one of the planes was locked in a lavatory. She had a cell phone, and she made one phone call. She said that the other crew members had been killed.

It is impossible to stop terrorists! There will always be more.

My thoughts exactly. This is too sophisticated for Osama Ben Laden without major help from whom?
Iraq/Iran/China/Russia?
The fact that President Bush and his team are fighting not only the enemies of this nation from without - but also the TRAITOROUS CLINTONISTAS FROM WITHIN - makes this time so much more difficult than it is even now! Please, President Bush, DO NOT ASSUME that people offering you help are sincere. Some of them are probably working to destroy you....perhaps even in conjunction with these "terrorists". All suspected enemies of this country should be rounded up and held incommunicado - including Hitlery and Bubba Clinton and their "lieutenants".

"The answer to this is to arm pilots with guns."
tb, do you really mean that or are you just saying that to agree with me for once and to give me a smile on an otherwise bad day? LOL
May God bless all those who suffered a loss today.

It is impossible to stop terrorists! There will always be more. That is why we need to start doing them in, and keep doing them in with regularity. They DO understand the use of force.

It is impossible to stop terrorists! There will always be more. There will be more if we leave them alive, we need to go after them big time, not just a half-hearted effort. We need to get anyone who is on their side even if they aren't directly involved.

This better be the LAST unopposed skyjacking in an American jet. If this should ever happen in the future, EVERY passenger should rush the terrorists with the rememberance of New York City and Washington in their minds, and with those images, find the determination to either stop the terrorits, or at least, in the fashion of true Patriots, die in the attempt to protect out freedoms and our fellow countrymen. You put into words exactly what I was thinking.

Perhaps we need a new pre-fight message on all US flights: "In case of hyjacking, all passengers are requested to rush the hyjackers and beat them to a pulp with extreme prejudice."I'd like to add that having beaten the hijackers to a pulp but before they expire, the hijackers should then be smeared with pork fat.

Cletus, I had the same thought. However, there are two, not just one of which you spoke. Bessie and the other one on Lk. Erie. As I am closer to "the other one" I found myself thanking God that the plane crashed in PA. Although, Ashcroft said the plane was heading for Washington I see the plants to be it.

FBI is executing search warrants in
South Florida and Daytona Beach. Given that there just aren't many Moslems in Florida due to the high concentration of Jews there, could this be home-grown, just like Oklahoma City? Could this be due to the recent major rift in the Cuban-American National Foundation, in which the hard-liners left the organization, or is this an "anti-Global" thing?

Here's how easy it is (or could have been for me) to sneak a weapon through security: Recently went to Atlanta to pick up a baby parrot. For return flight, baby parrot (with BIG beak) is in the standard pet carrier that fits under the seat. I get to xray machines, but don't want to put parrot in carrier on the conveyor, nor can I take her out because of the BIG BEAK. So rather than have me walk through with carrier in hand, they take the carrier and put it on a counter. I walk through the xray and pick up the carrier on the other side. All while the girls working there oohed and ahhhed over the parrot. The carrier NEVER went through any kind of examination. There could have been grenades, pistols, broken down AK-47, whatever under the towel in the carrier. I just shook my head as I walked down to my gate.

I would hope that, should a similar scenario ever play out in the future, that KNIVES would not stop passengers from taking action. After this, I really think that there would be at least a percentage of the passengers that would say to themselves, 'I'm liable to die anyway, why not at least TRY to stop these b*stards and prevent another New York??' How the hell do you KNOW what happened on board those flights? How the hell do you or anyone else at this point KNOW that no one on those flights had the "cojones" that you do?
YOU DON'T!!!
Enough of this "Rambo" stuff, please!! Show some respect.
