AF 1 is shorthand for Air France Flight 1. I've even seen this done at the FAA. The correct designator is A1.

You think thats bad. Katie Curic asked someone earlier this morning if they thought the attacks had been provoked by Bush's lack of engagement in the Middle East. She suggested that whenever things got bad in Middle East, Clinton always stepped in to help (the Palestinians)and Bush's failure to do so may have forced Bin Laden to act. How's that for treason?

Speaking of ABC, did anyone else see Peter Jennings interviewing George Stephanopolus when he was talking about the White House during his years there in which he said members of the White House had to video conference during the "Oklahoma City bombing" and the "TWA flight 800 BOMBING".
