This is War
By David Horowitz
Today is Pearl Harbor.  The destruction of the World Trade Center, the attack on the Pentagon, the revelation to all the world that even the White House is vulnerable, should be a wake up call to Americans. This country is at war, and we are far behind in securing our citizens' safety and preparing for our defense. The country is at war. America has been soft. America has been in denial. Now it is time for Americans who love this country to stand up in her defense.  continue…

This is war. The Constitution clearly states the primary reason for our Federal Government. What is that? It is not Education...It is not Health Care...It is not Medicare...It is to protect our citizens from WAR. And how successful have they been? Poorly...

Everything that Horowitz said is true. Eight years of denial and false peace need to be reveresed.

We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.

Very good point. Health care, environmental concerns, and MTV (correction from last post) awards are meaningless, irrelevant bullsh!t when you can't even keep someone from toppling two buildings like that in New York.

How could obvious targets like the Pentagon and the World Trade Center Towers be so undefended?

We know the answer. America is soft. America is in denial. America is embarrassed at the idea that it has enemies and must protect itself.

I know a different answer. America is free. America does not want checkpoints every 50 feet, with officers demanding to "see our papers." America knows it has enemies. However, it will not allow those enemies to turn our country into a police state, out of fear of what our enemies might do. The day we do that, our enemies have won.

We know that because we do not have checkpoints, because we are not a police state, our enemies will occasionally inflict serious damage on us. Our response should be to annihilate them, not our own freedoms.

Stand-by for the grabbers to scream that all lawfully-owned private weapons must now be confiscated -- "to protect us from terrorists." They never miss an opportunity to change a tragedy into something they can use.

Amen. God bless and pass the ammunition.

I have been thinking about retaliation all morning. What makes sense to me at this point is military attacks against any country which we determine harbors, finances or otherwise supports terrorists. I would announce this policy and attack within 24 hours.

Are you Arab? It sounds like you are worried America is about to clean the Arab gene pool. If so you are right.

We reap what we sow.

Does that mean you approve of the attacks today?

In the big picture it really doesn't matter who exactly executed this attack. We no longer have the luxury of turning the other cheek or pussy-foot around to assuage the consciences of the pacifists.

We need to strike at those groups and governments who have the most to gain from this attack, those who in any way have supported or condoned not this, but any similar type of attack, and those who might be reasonalbly expected to try it in the future.

If we have to take out the 5 most likely organizations and governments, so be it, we will not be striking far from the bulls-eye.

If we could perfectly identify and eliminate the culprits to a man, that would not solve the problem. If civilians must die, so be it. That gauntlet has already been thrown down. If this was another Pearl Harbor, then we we need another Hiroshima.

Words have cosequences.

The class warfare artists, Daschle, Gephart, Clinton, Jackson, have brought this " Chicken Home to Roost"

They will pay

So the calls for further suspensions of civil liberties have already begun.

True, but can you demonstrate anything wrong with having military might sufficient to deter, defeat unconditionally
and keep out our enemies? Why didn't they shoot down those airliners? What is our current scramble time to any point
in CONUS? (answer - too long!!!). Get rid of all the damn socialistic programs (including all pork) and focus on the
key elements of success and national security!!!

If this was another Pearl Harbor, then we we need another Hiroshima.

This was a whole bunch worse than Pearl Harbor, except that our Naval Fleets were not damaged, like they were at Pearl. I also believe we need more than just one Hiroshima.

I was not angry since I came to France
Until this instant. Take a trumpet, herald;
Ride thou unton the horsemen on yond hill;
If they will fight with us, bid them come down
Or void the field; they do offend our sight.
If they'll do neither, we will come to them
And make them skirr away as swift as stones
Enforced from the old Assyrian slings;
Besides, we'll cut the throats of those we have,
And not a man of them shall we take
That shall taste our mercy.
Go and tell them so.

Henry V, Act IV, scene vii
