Update on granddaughters... they met three foreign girls last night and they are being taken in by them. Isn't that wonderful? They had a room for tonight too..so they won't be on the street....

I simply dont know who is to blame but Im 100% sure it is linked to the Arab, Palestinian and Israeli conflict.
Europe has been giving aid and comfort to the terrorists for years now, so when I see Tony Blair being horrified that his friends in the Middle East could do such things it makes me sick.
BTW I heard that another American drone has been shot down over Iraq. If this is the case, it is sheer stupidity have sent any plane over there today. This will remind everyone that American and British planes have been bombing Iraq for ten years achieving nothing but a propaganda victory for Saddam.

"I am not selling the United States short - it is a fact that our banks and merchandising across the nation have just taken a HUGE HIT." That is true, but it still doesn't excuse closing malls and schools hundreds of miles away, IMO.
I understand your concern, and I share it. Now is the time for us to stick together and stick to our guns. We will not be intimidated.
Let this also be a warning to us, that we should not centralize any one segment of our economy or society into a relatively small area. There's simply no excuse for that given the level of communication technology available today.

i wouldn't give ya a plug nickle for the life of any overtly
attired muslim in the US tonight, whether arab or black.
anyone considered the potential reaction of the asshole
black muslims in this country when we retaliate?
( hope a few of 'em try to 'react' in my neighborhood )

Hi, folks. Hope everybody back there's OK. Glad to be hearing from the ones who are. I've got a fraternity brother who's an Air Force officer working at the Pentagon. His wife (another one of my classmates) sent an email to say he got out unharmed but that it was a pretty tense situation to say the least. They live a couple of miles from the building and she heard the crash from there.
I work at the federal building in Laguna Niguel (south Orange County), for a private company supporting the INS regional office, and we've been given the day off. If they're shutting it down out here in the suburbs, they're really not messing around with this, and I don't blame them. Thinking about and praying for you all.

I would guess that we have only one plan for handling major attacks by terrorists. It is designed to handle any chemical or biological attack anywhere in the US, as well as a conventional attack. The reasonable course is to shut down everything, just in case. Then when everyone is safeguarded, asess the threat and see what can be re-opened the next day.
It's no big deal to have everything closed for a day. We do survive holidays, but failure to close something could be disastrous, so close first, evaluate second, re-open third

At this time I really wanted to be with you guys. This event has shocked the world. I can only get BBC and CNN but I hear that Peter Jennings and Dan Rather have been trying to score political points out of this terrible tragedy
To: acnielsen guy
Thank you ac - we're glad to have you pulling for us. I just got an e-mail from a friend of mine in France, and he's praying for the US, too.... a lot of the older people like him in Europe have been very uncomfortable with Europeanization of their individual nations. Our American patriotism is a beacon --- we must be true.
I just got some cash from the bank ATM, still functional.
To: acnielsen guy
AC, our news in America today is of course all about the attacks here. I am curious if there are any other attacks against westerners overseas now - have you heard of anything in Europe or the Pacific?
To: acnielsen guy
i wouldn't waste my time on the majors, even if it's all we got.
and if that's true about jennings and rather, i hope today's is
the last sunrise they ever see.
thank you for being with us ac.

The kindest thing you can say about Dan Rather is that he is senile. After the first Tower fell, and while people were jumping out of the flames on the top of the Second Tower, he was saying that we really didn't have any confirmed deaths. After that I just couldn't watch CBS.
Jennings seems to be trying to assert his Canadian Ctizenship. That's good, cause he may need it.
It seems that you can't get a cab in NY. All the drivers are Muslim, and they are rightly afraid to go out on the streets.

I hope they make their attacks so openly and so directed that they will be shunned by every good patriotic American in this country. I hope the people turn against them and they get them thrown off the air. I'd like to see that happen. Those low life horrors. I wish they'd get spat upon when ever they were in public. They are our enimies as much as the ones that attacked us today in my eyes..

The news all over the world is about these attacks. This is the biggest story since Pearl Harbor. Whoever did this certainly got the attention of the world. I havent heard of any attacks against westerners but there has be rejoicing in the Palestinian camps.
