Attacks celebrated in West Bank

Attacks celebrated in West Bank

Thousands of Palestinians celebrated today's terror attacks in the United States, chanting "God is Great" and distributing candy to passers-by, even as their leader, Yassir Arafat, said he was horrified.

The US Government has become increasingly unpopular in the West Bank and Gaza Strip in the past year, with many Palestinians accusing Washington of siding with Israel.

In the West Bank town of Nablus, about 3,000 people poured into the street shortly after the attacks on the World Trade Center in New York and the government targets in Washington.

Demonstrators distributed candy in a traditional gesture of celebration. Several Palestinian gunmen shot in the air, while other marchers carried Palestinian flags. Nawal Abdel Fatah, 48, wearing a long black dress, threw sweets in the air, saying she was happy because "America is the head of the snake, America always stands by Israel in its war against us".

Her daughter Maysoon, 22, said she hoped the next attack would be launched against Tel Aviv.

In traditionally Arab East Jerusalem, there was a smaller gathering of about two dozen people, many of them young children led in chants by adults. Some drivers passing the scene honked their horns and flashed victory signs from their windows.

Mr Arafat and his top advisers huddled at his seaside office in Gaza City, watching the events unfold on television. Mr Arafat later emerged to speak to reporters.

"We are completely shocked. It’s unbelievable," he said.

"We completely condemn this very dangerous attack, and I convey my condolences to the American people, to the American President and to the American Administration, not only in my name but on behalf of the Palestinian people."

In the West Bank, meanwhile, the leader the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP) denied his group was involved in the attacks.

Qais Abdel Rahim was reacting to reports that two Arab satellite stations in the Gulf had received anonymous claims of responsibility on behalf of the DFLP, a radical faction of the Palestinian Liberation Organisation. Mr Abdel Rahim said his group condemned the attacks.

Not advocating violence by any means, but just an observation-- nobody would much notice or care if these celebrants were dispatched en masse while their news profile is low. Celebrating the deaths of thousands of innocent people is sick, sick, sick!

Alexander Haig --- Fox News
Today:

"We should declare war on terrorism.  We should
not be hogtied by moral equivalence arguments
which have restricted our efforts before...  We should
have second thoughts today about letting
Saddam Hussein survive Desert Storm."

At the very least, let this be the day that Osama Bin Laden, his family, his henchmen, and his cohorts have all bought themselves one-way tickets straight to the lowest rungs of burning Hell.

On Labor Day I waited at JFK Airport International Arrivals Building watching a seemingly endless array of Arabs, mostly young men, but also large families, enter the US. The whole scene made the hair on the back of my neck stand up. It was really creepy. We have no control over our borders, and itis time for some housekeeping from a revitalized INS. Like, now!

"We are completely shocked. It’s unbelievable," he said.
...we thought we sent four planes to the WTC.
The press didn't let him finish his sentence.

They're God is nothing but pure evil. Anyone who would celebrate the fiery deaths of thousands of people are not people of God.

"America is the head of the snake"

Eh-eh. America is the whole snake. The rattlesnake. And she is aroused.

I saw this footage first when I was praying a rosary for this tragedy--it came on during the "Our Father." When I was saying "as we forgive those who trespass against us," I saw a young boy of about 7 cheering in the streets. I lost it and started crying...my 3-year-old climbed up next to me and sat quietly as I prayed the rest of my rosary. In that moment, I knew that not all of the children of the world are lost.

A+Bert, you've been quite a character for quite a long time. But right now might not be the best time to be contrary for the sake of being contrary.

"The enemy of my enemy is my friend," and it appears that Arab terrorists are the enemy from the preliminary reports. We have time to make sure. We should use it. We should find them. And then we'll cut them apart. Unprecedented attacks warrant unprecedented payback. Keep 'em alive for a while. Make pinatas out of 'em. See how long their god lets them suffer.

And if you're still against us at that point, well, you might just redefine "minority".
