I will be staying home. What we do not need right now is panic in the streets. Runs on gas stations, super markets and banks would be extremely ill advised. Stay home. Urge others to stay home. Do NOT urge anyone to do anything that would create an even worse situation!

Fox news reporting that before markets closed, oil shot up to $32 dollars/barrell. Also notes that WTC was center of oil trading. True?

I just got back from town and the run on the gas stations have already started, and the prices are going up fast. You may be sorry if you don't at least fill up today. The lines are very long and it's only 1:30 here what will happen when everyone gets off work?

Not sure if in the WTC or not, but the trading center was destroyed. Heard remarks earlier, that lead me to believe it was nearby the WTC, but I could be wrong. It may have been inside.

I paid $1.50. In Lansing, I've seen it range from $1.55 to 1.80 now.

Someone said - Going up 20 cents an hour. Imlay City MI is running out of gas.

Long lines in all gasoline stations in Anderson, Indiana. The "word" is that diesel fuel will be over $5.00/gallon by tomorrow.

[Get yours before the hoarders get there.]

If we kick the crap out of the middle eastern dirtbags that sponsored this terrorist crap and take their land for ourselves, we can turn the middle east into our own personal gas station. I'd say Alaskan and offshore drilling are now a priority and a given. Let the Den-of-rats Party oppose that policy now.

Here in Clinton Township, just outside of Detroit, prices ranging around $4.89 per gallon with ENORMOUS lines. What the heck is going on here???

IMHO, this is the doings of the independent station owners, not the gas companies.....

In Kansas City there are long lines and isolated accounts of stations charging up to $5 per gallon. The States Attorney has already called for people who paid that much to send him their receipts so he can file charges.

My husband topped off the tank and it was $1.49 for regular. The lines were long and he had to go inside to pay because the credit card companies are swamped and they have to run the cards manually.

Its $2.00 here in Conway. I heard it was $4.00 in Fayetteville. We filled up for 1.70. The lines are very long and some stations have run out of fuel.

It would help if you guys would state where you are. I'll be going out in awhile in the Dallas area and will let you know how much I had to pay. I filled up a few days ago at $1.339/gal, but some stations were selling for $1.469.
