Peter Jennings Criticises President Bush's Leadership During this Crisis
Posted on 09/11/2001 10:19:29 AM PDT by IWONDR
Anyone been listening to Peter Jennings on ABC?
He is criticising President Bush saying it's been two hours since he spoke from Florida; that the President needs to demonstrate more vigorous leadership during this crisis. With the largest attack against the U.S. (internal to our borders) in history, how can this talking head suggest that the President needs to be making PR appearances, when he needs to be conferring with top security officials within the government and elsewhere in order to ascertain whom was responsible, and to coordinate and develop an appropriate response?
I think we need somehow to let Peter Jennings and ABC know that we cannot accept this ridiculous criticism of Pres. Bush when the nation is in the midst of this crisis. PR, would of course, be the first response from our former Prez, and Peter would be lauding ex42 regardless of what he had done, if this had occurred on his watch.

OMG - I SAW THAT! I was stunned, then used some nasty language to the TV. Couldn't he understand that Bush might be involved in strategy and decision making. I for one would rather have GWB talking to Rice, Powell and Cheney rather than some reporters.

Jennings knows nothing about war protocol and therefore transformed his mouth into a horses ass, a really big hole with a lot of shit coming out of it.Nice visual.

Let ABC know about it. I sent them an email and told them Jennings was an IDIOT, that this Canadian was trashing our leadership while the country needs to be pulling together. You can do the same
HERE .

Thanks for your comments, Harry. We must pull together right now, all of us.

Did anyone besides me hear Jennings say a couple of hours ago "finding out who did this is secondary"?

It is past the time for polite conversationWell stated. I wholeheartedly agree.
I would also add that it's past the point of being polite to pompous ASSHOLES like Peter Jennings.
The 1st Amendment guarentees the right to say whatever you like, even if you are wrong... But we also have the right to demand... read that as DEMAND his sorry canuck dropout butt be FIRED!!!

Revoke his citizenship and send him back to Canada. These clowns supported Clinton cutting our military and defense. I think they felt better when Monica was working at the Pentagon in a high security position. They can thank Clinton.

I just got off the telephone with the local ABC affiliate KTRK TV, Channel 13 in Houston, Texas. The lady I talked to said they have been "swamped with calls about Peter Jennings". She said that she has been these for about 1 hour and that all the calls have been about Peter Jennings and that "people are very mad!"

Yea peter, tell us how it should be done...
ABC needs to fire this clown for undermining the president when he (and the country) needs support the most.
If not, then ABC can be "invited" to attend White House press releases in the parking lot.
I may not be the world's biggest Bush fan, but I sure not going to be slamming him at this point...
Besides what does this cretin implying that Bush is supposed to be doing?
Giving PRESS RELEASES???
(We all know what clinton would be doing...)

Please pardon the profanity, but what a dick this guy is. Even Howard Stern (who had excellent coverage) said that now is not the time to be coming down on the president.

Tell Peter Jennings that unlike certain Canadian newscasters, the President has a lot more important and pressing duties to take care of at a time like this instead of wasting his time running his mouth off into a microphone.
