I'm angry today, as I see the city where I grew up in flames. People I know have undoubtedly been killed.
All the news coverage shows the horrific pictures, but no one is asking or answering "WHY"? Why would someone be moved to kill themselves along with tens of thousands of people, cause billions of dollars in damage, and humiliate and paralyze a nation?
The reason is America's blind support for Israel. Before the cast-iron skulls among you try to shout me down, crying that this is not the time for recrimination, that needs to be said, or we dishonor the dead. WHY did they die? What benefit has America derived from this relationship? And what has been the cost, in blood and treasure?
I would note that the first voice I heard "spinning" the attacks this morning was an Israeli "security expert". Disgusting.
George Washington:
"It is our true policy to steer clear of permanent alliances with any portion of the foreign world..."
Watch for a massive pro-Israeli PR campaign in the coming weeks. America's support for a small, criminally-minded nation has brought this nation to a standstill and killed tens of thousands of people.
Undoubtedly, I will be called a "hater". But it was not the policies that I favor that vaporized and crushed my fellow New Yorkers today.
Self-interest runs deep, but I hope a few people will look in the mirror for just a second today and feel a little shame, or at least doubt.
