Freeper Email Campaign
Day of Infamy | parsifal

Posted on 09/11/2001 8:29:56 AM PDT by parsifal

Rather than curse and raise hell among ourselves, I suggest we start individually emailing the President and our Congressmen. Everybody has, and is entitled to, their own opinion but I am disturbed by the calls for calm and restraint.

I think this is an act of war, and as soon as we identify the group responsible, we need tee off on them. If it is the Palestinians, we need to start immediate bombing of their country followed by invasion. If it is Islama Bin Laden, and he is hiding somewhere, the "somewhere" should be given 5 minutes to agree to turn him over or suffer the same fate.

I have heard reports of 10,000 casualities. I do not know if these are the dead, or dead and wounded. I suspect there will be more dead than at Pearl Harbor. It's war.

I do not have links for White House or Congress. I would appreciate help. If any of you have better ideas on how to address this, please feel free to respond.

Newt Gingrinch is on Fox. He has called this a 21st Century Pearl Harbor. He is calling it a war and calling for a full American response.

I don't know what your e-mail campaign is supposed to accomplish. Maybe the President and all members of Congress are taking polls right now to help them figure out what to do.

[sarcasm off]

Exactly. No time to be putting wet fingers in the air. It's time to demonstrate true leadership.

"I don't know what your e-mail campaign is supposed to accomplish. "

Make it easy for Freepers to access the links. I don't know what other people will say in their emails. I know what I will say in mine. I think it better for us to tell the gov't what we think, whatever it is, than spend the day telling each other. IMHO.

This IS and act of WAR.

But let's not get ahead of ourselves and end up bombing an aspirin factory in the Sudan to appease people.

We need to make sure the right people are identified, and then respond with every ounce of might.

The bastards have awoken the sleeping giant.

I agree that the US should advise all state(s) that have been or are now suspected of harboring Bin Laden that they must cough him up within the next 24 hours. The alternative to such countries, if/when we determine that they have harbored him after our deadline, is to consider themselves at war with the US, with (needless to say) all the unpleasant effects on them that go with that state of affairs.

You can bet that the response to this will be thoughtful, deliberate and surgical......to say the least. Lets send then all to the devil first class.

I'm sure this isn't the place to say this, but after reflecting on it for a while I figured that if it was Osama bin Laden who was responsible for this I'm not sure I can blame him.

After what the U.S. allowed X-42 to get away with (launching a missile attack against the Sudan and Afghanistan just to save his fat @ss), I can't say we don't deserve it, either.

That is the most coherent statement I have heard all day!

"I think this is an act of war, and as soon as we identify the group responsible, we need tee off on them."

Let's make sure that we aren't tricked into "teeing off" on the WRONG group.

Folks, we don't know for a fact who did this. And if one can envision any one group willing to do something this vile to make a point, one must accept the possability of ANOTHER group willing to do something this vile to make the first group look bad.

None of us knows who did this. Be careful of those who insist they should decide for you.

Don't. Not yet, and for practical reasons. Our local radio is asking people NOT to call or tie up phone lines to NYC and DC. The lines are jammed and they need to keep the lines clear for emergency calls.

Our local blood bank is now calling for people to donate blood.

Armed services committee e-mails:

www.senate.gov./~armed_services and WWW.house.gov/HASC

Foreign relations committee e-mails:

www.senate.gov/~foreign and www.house.gov/international_relations

Call your congressmen at their local offices around the country tell them to fully fund our military now! This wouldn't have happened under Reagan or if we had a strong military.

Tying up internet lines would NOT be helpful. I agree this is WAR, but with WHOM? Pearl Harbor we knew the enemy. Who or which GROUPS are responsible today? To strike it is helpful to know who enemy is. This is why terrorism is so evil.

I have heard calls to "nuke them". Nuclear weapons have a way of contaminating areas forever and of spreading in the wind and the water. Use something else and remove those responsible completely. Do NOT let this become a tool for Global Government. I have already heard Gen. Clark calling for more global cooperation. Get rid of the UN--I do not want a UN Peacekeeping force here on our soil!

"I agree this is WAR, but with WHOM?"

True. Could be the Serbians for all we know. But whoever it is I do not think it is a matter for the FBI and Police to handle. This is something for Army, Navy, Air Force, & Marines. Like Gingrich said, this required "state" help. When we figure out what "state" is responsible, then we need to respond militarily. Not a police action. A war. It will make the next "state" think a long time.
