Chair, today might be a good day to take a sick day, and get the hell out of town.

Just spitballing, because all indications are that this is a Mid-East related attack. But, keep an eye out for what's happening out there in the Far East. This could very well be the opening move in an all-out attack by China. Arafat is condemning the attack. CYA or legit?

Entire military of US is now on Threat Level Charlie, while those around DC and NY are at Delta. This is serious, folks.

My daughter works close enough that she can see the smoke from the Pentagon. She works for a military contractor but her company is not military. She is ok ..... her company has been shut down and people sent home. She thinks I-95 is closed but doesn't take it anyway ..... the Metro is closed .... thank goodness she drives! Prayers for all the thousands of people affected by this. I can't express what I am feeling. But I nearly broke a tv set today. Was flipping channels and heard Brian Williams say, as the 2nd Trade Tower went down, something about everybody needing to pray. I just about lost it ....... who in the h--- do the news media pray to ...... AL Gore or Hillary? It sure isn't my God ..... not from the way they act. Sorry folks ..... I am torn up and just need to vent. I'll be sorry I said that later.

My son works in Oak Ridge, TN .... I have some concerns about that, too though have heard from d-i-l via email and so far so good.

I kow there are a lot of FReepers in New York and am very concerned about them ..... the scenes from there are horrific. And, of course, a lot of concern for our DC FReepers, too ...... especially Chairman.

Local schools in Indianapolis are in lock down. I went to the grocery to get some WATER, which I think everyone should do. I also filled my car with gasoline, which I think everyone should do. Snack food delivery guy was in the reserves and said he expected to be called up tonight. Radio on at the grocery. People are very somber and are talking about Pearl Harbor. MEXICAN BORDER HAS BEEN CLOSED.

Philly area schools are closing.....All city offices are closing...

People are pulling all kids out of schools in the South Jersey area..

Wlimington Delaware is shutting down.....A commuter Airport is located near Wilmington..

Keep your eyes on the Mid-East...Isreal is alone right now...We are a bit tied up here..

Daughter home safely ..... they finally totally evacuated her building ..... even essential personnel. Phone system in the DC area is chaotic to non-functional. She finally got through to us by calling collect.

Son reports that Oak Ridge has been evacuated. He works within sight of the vulnerable facilities there and is probably going home shortly ...... to Knoxville, which should be safe.

I am just distraught over the monstrosity and the scope of this. Words fail!

President just spoke. Taped from Shreveport, but no one knows where he is now. He said the US is being tested, and make no mistake, we will pass the test. We will hunt down and punish those responsible.

I am waiting by the radio. Our civil defense group was activated for a briefing and told to stand by. The county is taking this seriously and has manned their emergency operations center. Lots of confusion about what all has happend. My family is all heading home.

God bless America. The terrorists have roused a sleeping giant. 10,000 American killed on American soil will not be ignored. Congress needs to declare war on all terrorist states, and we need to clean them out.

Just got word that a Korean airlines plane inbound to Anchorage has lost contact with the Air traffic control. Valdez is a possible target. All Government buildings are being evacuated in Anchorage as well. I pray it's just radio problems.
