Some time ago Robert Waters (author of The Best Defense) started a project called Operation Self Defense. Robert recruited a team of volunteers to scan online news sources for documented stories of the lawful use of a firearm in defense of life and property. The project has grown and for a variety of reasons (including finishing a new book) Robert has entrusted the folks at KeepAndBearArms to continue what he has started.
Today, September 11, 2001, KeepAndBearArms announces the launch of the "systems upgrade" of Operation Self Defense. The goal is to cover every online news source throughout the nation to gather, report and distribute stories of everyday citizens who are alive and healthy today because a privately owned firearm was available when they needed it most. But to accomplish this goal, they need a large team of dedicated volunteers who are willing to devote just a few minutes a day to the review of one or more online new resources in search of those stories. If you think you can spare those few minutes in the cause of freedom and the right of self-defense, please pay a visit to the Operation Self Defense home page at KeepAndBearArms.com. Review the program and join if you can. It's time we added names (and hopefully a few pictures) to Kleck's statistics.
