Weapons Stolen from Top-Security Military Site Story by Paola Farer September 10, 2001 - 10:03pm The FBI is investigating the theft of high-powered weapons from a military installation in Nebraska. The theft was discovered on Saturday morning by military police. It happened at a missile alert facility in southwestern Nebraska, near Kimball. An M-16 machine gun and the grenade launcher for that weapon along with ammunition and an M-60 machine gun were stolen. No nuclear components were taken from the site. The missile alert facility is set up so crew members work in an underground area, the weapons are stored above ground. A military spokesperson told 9NEWS Monday night that the Air Force is very concerned about the safety of people in the surrounding area. He said that since this high-powered equipment is in the wrong hands, the military is treating this as an extremely dangerous situation. The military spokesperson says he's not aware of this ever happening before. The Air Force says finding the person or persons responsible and recovering the weapons is their top priority.

M203 and an M60, somebody is looking for some cash, heads will roll, and the democratische will scream bloody murder. As for Air Force Security, The senior security officer shoulf lose all his numbers, as well as a special courts martial. I work with these guys all the time. Some are so-so, and the others are ok. Need a good marine to watch the store.

Oh spare me the breathless hyperbole. High powered? 120mm artillery is high powered, Apache heli's are high powered. M16's and 60's are not high powered. These are legal weapons with the proper licenses, small arms for pete's sake. Go down to the Knob Creek shoot and you'll see all you'll ever want to. Likely these will end up in a private collection and never fired till a socialist hog-feedin' day comes around. Amazing how the commie gun drivel has filtered into the military and police organizations.

one of those rounds in your chest will seem like high powered. But I do agree that they are small arms not "high powered". Maybe they should refer to them as "assault weapons" and with bayonet lugs and flash suppressors no less.
