MADRID, Sept 10 (AFP) - A Spanish journalist locked himself in an apartment in Madrid on Monday wearing only his underwear and with nothing but a credit card and a computer connected to the Internet -- all in the name of science.
Inaki de la Torre, 28, from Quo magazine, has sworn he can last out a month locked alone in the flat living off food he can buy through the Internet.
Alone in the apartment, which is connected to a water and electricity supply, De la Torre is expected to clothe and feed himself, find furniture and buy basic goods through the Internet, equipped with a credit card with a one million peseta (6,000 euro, 5,400 dollar) limit.
Fans wanting to monitor the Spanish cybernaut's progress can log on to the magazine's web site where he will conduct nightly chat sessions. Webcams will follow his every movement and relay images to the web site.
Palma Granados, head of the magazine and web site Quo, said the experiment followed a similar stunt in the United States and was designed to test whether or not people could live a normal life relying solely on the Internet and to see how far new technology changed social habits.
I could live in my house by ordering my necessities from the Internet for a year -- easily. And I could start nekkid too! :)
