Dole to file for Senate in North Carolina

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Elizabeth Dole plans to file papers Tuesday to run for the U.S. Senate in North Carolina next year, Republican officials told CNN Monday.

"She told me, 'I'm definitely running and I'm going to campaign in all of North Carolina's 100 counties,'" said state GOP Chairman Bill Cobey.

Better that new blood emerges rather than Mrs. Dole. I just hope that she loses in the primary.

I hope Helms comes out and endorses Richard Burr. He's never endorsed anyone in a primary before, but he knows Richard and he knows Elizabeth and he knows which would be good and which wouldn't. He has nothing to loose now by giving an endorsement. Pray everyone! Please pray!
