In 1997 the median white male had taken somewhere around a $4,000 drop in adjusted inceome from 1973. This has been a continuing process for nearly 30 years.
Where do you have this number from? All statistics I have seen show an increase in real incomes for all socio-economic groups except the bottom 20% over the last 30 years. I may certainly be wrong, but please give a source for your claim. Thanks in advance!

'The downfall of Bush will be the economy (no matter its condition).'
Taking swings at Bush ain't gonna help. This is a threadful of whine, hurts the Conservative cause. If you must kick your own asses, do it privately. Thanx for not breaking the 11th commandment (sarcasm off).

Ny computer crashed big time about three weeks ago, so I lost my statistical bookmarks. They are government statistics. You get five or six sets of statistics. The one used in most political/economic arguments is family income. When you look close you find out men are putting their wives to work competing with them for their own jobs. The result is two people working for what was formerly 75% salary with an increase in total family income.<p. On close examination you find white male inclome is down. You also find people at the 60th percentile and below have taken a beating while the top quartile is doing well. Vut the top quartile is the people who write economics articles saying how nice things are.
