ATLANTIC CITY -- Acting Gov. Donald DiFrancesco told an audience at a racial profiling conference Monday he fears racism may have played a role in public opposition to a sports arena in Newark.
DiFrancesco's spokesman, Tom Wilson, promptly clarified the governor's remarks to say he did not intend to suggest any critics of the arena deal were driven by bigotry. Such critics include Republican gubernatorial candidate Bret Schundler, who wants voters to approve the arena first in a ballot referendum.

What a JERK! He accuses others but didn't intend to suggest they are guilty -- what a way to bring people together.
So glad we got rid of this scum. He is a poor representative of the Republican party.

DiFrancesco is a crook, and now he's a crook and a race-baiter. What an absurd statement.

We flew him at a balloon rally in July. I knew nothing about him. Good thing from the sound of it.

If he can't win, he's going to destroy the GOP.
What a sore loser!

As an outsider from the other side of the fruited plain. What will be the attraction of this Newark Arena? Will New Jersey Devils or the Nets move there? I can't see that happen, but what is your take on this?

Normally, I'd be able to stay, and answer your question. This week though, I'm helping with the FreeRepublic fundraiser. I'm sorry, Just too exhausted!

This is on the level of the Gore's lynching ads. Schundler has shown he plays more and better hardball than Bush,e.g. the abortion debate. After my first blood pressure burst I think
1. This is not the action of someone 19 points ahead-McGreevy is desperate or
2. They are not competent. You're supposed to wait until 4 days before the election for this stuff.
DeFrancisco won't be able to dance around the racism charge for 60 days. The turncoat will be neutralized for the campaign. McGreevy should have waited to use him.
The polarization of the political scene is outing the "moderate" Republicans and cleansing the Party.

DiFrancesco blames Schundler for revealing all Donny's dirty finances. Things are going to get a lot worse.......
