1. A fund-raiser for Mike McGarry (R), who is running to rejoin the Hartford City Council, will be held on Wednesday, 12 September from 1700 to 200 at the BOND HOTEL in downtown Hartford (338 Asylum Avenue ... free parking). Mike is a decent politician with good ideas for revitalizing politics and Hartford. He has supported FR, CT-RA and CCC in the Hartford area. (Donation required)
2. On Saturday, 22 September 2001, from 1300-1645, at the West Hartford Library Webster Hall, the Connecticut Conservative Congress (FR, NFRA, RLC, etc.) will feature the dynamic Dr. Isabel "Izzy" Lyman. She is an energetic FReeper who has written "The Homeschooling Revolution" on which she will talk, as well as being a political commentator and reporter (she was with us at the FR "Count-The-Silverware" Inaugural Ball in Washington, DC).
She is very active on behalf of FR in MA and CT. She disguises herself in a bright red dress and a cowboy hat.
This meeting is free and open to the public.
Pictures of FR at the recent NFRA Convention in Dallas are on their way someday.
