I agree with your analysis.

One other angle I've thought about is that all this will accomplish is the final nail being driven into Al Gore's political coffin and a little more egg ending up on a Bubba's smug mug.

But the big winner ends up being the Queen herself, with a major obstacle in her `04 WH run removed from the field.

She will emerge even more powerful within the Dem party, and her road to an `04 victory becomes more assured.

No Arthur, if anything is rigged it is your whole premise in this matter. You've exposed yourself in the very first post of the thread. Let's see if we can break it down:

1. The lack of trust that you continue to harp on as the basis for your strawman. It doesn't wash, we have been here for the last eight years watching Burton subpeona everything under the sun in an attempt to get Clinton, so why whould his latest attempt come as a shock? If Gore were President he'd be doing the same thing he's doing now. Trust has nothing to do with it, you seeing this as an opportunity to lob a few Molitov cocktails at Bush to prop up Keyes is your sole motivation. As some one who voted for Keyes in the SC Primary, your help in the manner in which you have chosen to give it is not needed nor appreciated.

2. Yes, Arthur you are trying to destroy Bush, and your attempt to do so borders on if not crosses the line into slander.

3. No, Arthur this is not Political Chess. It's a matter of placing the Nation's problems that affect us all over the wants and needs of a few people's need for the immediate gradifacation of finally getting Clinton. It called priorities.

4. Again with the name calling, first Bush is untrustworthy, now he's a coward. Got any more goodies stashed away in your bag of insults?

5. Your outrage is totally manufactured. you saw an opportunity to score a few points and you went for it. As far as God's plans for some one, you're being awfully presumptuous aren't you? Only God has the right to make that decision and I don't think God would appreciate you doing it for him.

6. 3rd Party vs primary fight, well it worked real well for Perot didn't it? He's the one that assured us getting Clinton in the first place. You must work within the Party for change. Going out side it only assures both your and your former party's demise.

7. We may actually be in agreement somewhat here believe it or not. I personally have no use for liberals or moderates(liberal lite IMHO), they tend to whine and generally gum up the works when they don't get their way.

There is not one shred of sound political reasoning in your 'essay'. If Liberal was substituted for Conservative, even Salon wouldn't pay attention to this mishmash of ideas.

Go back and look at the votes in the primaries for Alexander, Dole, Keyes, Buchanan, Nader & Bradley. Add them up. Then start studying the postings from Freepers who have a lot of experience in getting people ELECTED.

Ok you still don't see any mistrust here? LOL. I'm not surprised. It would seem its because you don't take this as seriously as the 'grand game'. But I know better than to read minds the way you do.

1. The lack of trust that you continue to harp on as the basis for your strawman. It doesn't wash, we have been here for the last eight years watching Burton subpeona everything under the sun in an attempt to get Clinton, so why whould his latest attempt come as a shock?

I see now. You think that the Oversight Committee is goofy aye? I mean, if they DO trust him, they would be patient and simply ask for papers in a polite manner. Did Lott do a better job handling Clinton than the Oversight Comittee? Or Thompson? You think Thompson did a better job?

If I were 'out to get Bush', I would not have defended his family regarding Mena. Your assumption that I am agenda-driven is way off the mark. Also consider, I am able to listen to Rush Limbaugh. A true Bush basher would have bashed his radio several months ago.

Now, please explain how I slandered Bush. LOL. Your outrage is totally manufactured. you saw an opportunity to score a few points and you went for it. Oh? You know how I think do you? You got me 'pegged down'. Are you a psychology professor? You certainly do profess.

"...it only assures both your and your former party's demise." You are threatening my demise? Hm. My political demise I assume. You think I give a fig about that? Heheheh. I do what I can do and get on with my life. I used to be a democrat. Been independent ever since. In the last election, it appeared that 'the fix is in'. So I stayed independent. I'd join the GOP if I believed a true conservative would really fight early, fight often, and fight hard. I voted for Keyes as an independent in the primary. Now you think I'm still some villian out to destroy Bush? LOL.

. As far as God's plans for some one, you're being awfully presumptuous aren't you? Only God has the right to make that decision and I don't think God would appreciate you doing it for him. Oh quoting scripture is being presumptuous? In Revelation, it is written that the lukewarms will be spewn out. And some other poster, not yourself, referred to a time some smart alec wiped the microphone and table top after Keyes made a particularly hot speech. That particular poster seemed to think that making fun of Keyes was wonderful. So if you wonder why I made that remark, it has nothing to do with you or Bush. But it sounds like you noticed a little lukewarm tendancy somewhere I didn't notice. Hm.... I will say this, you are no lukewarm. =]

You also conclude that I'm a partizan for Keyes, purely agenda-driven. Well actually, Judge Roy Moore, Ron Paul, Dana Rohrabacher, and many others would get my support if they entered the primary right away. Any of them would do. Others too. Helen Cheneweth, for example. Heck. I'd love JimRob to run. Or Doug from Upland. They would all do a fine job as a conservative leader. Rush of course, is badly needed right where he is.

Oh you mean Perot and Ralph Nader? Without their help, Bush would have lost. LOL. He had a lot of money, but apparently another 20 mil would have been helpful. It was close.

Let us put our differences aside for now and pray for President Bush in this crisis. It is my duty as a citizen to be a vigilant gaurdian of the nation I love, but there are times to rally as united Americans. This is one of those times. We can agree to disagree and for a week at least, we can pray and unite. Freegards...

You know it's funny. You really slammed me and thought I was out to destroy Bush. I now think Bush is doing the right thing about exec privilege, several months later, when I heard that Waxman is openly siding with Burton against Bush on EP. I suppose you will take this new statement in some cynical way. Enjoy.

My apologies to Bush. Anyone who can tick off Waxman has something going for him.
