Four people were found dead of gunshot wounds in the Bernal Heights District of San Francisco.
Police would only confirm they found a man, a woman and two girls dead, but would not confirm reports that the four found were a family, or their ages.

I thought California was safe because of all their gun control laws.
What on earth is going on? There seems to be a lot of family killings lately especially in California. Have you noticed that Boxer, Feinstein, et al, haven't opened their mouths about guns lately? I guess since it's not in flyover country they can't blame the right-wing, gun nuts. Or else Gary Condit has taken up all the oxygen.
Police found the bodies of two adults and two girls in one room of the home at 9:45 a.m. Inspector Philip Fee said the motive for the shooting was unknown, and no suspect was in custody.
Police Lt. Judie Pursell would not say if police believed they were killed by an intruder or died in a murder-suicide. She said officers had no previous contact with people in the home. Police declined to release any other information.
Marlo Contreras, who lives across the street from the home, said she heard four shots around 6 a.m.
Contreras said the couple who lived in the home and their children were quiet and friendly, and had lived in the middle-class neighborhood for at least four years.
Big deal. So is Condit, and you don't see anyone dying around him.
Next thing you know Satanists or thugees will be eating Christians/Muslims on national television from LA.
How terribly sad. Do you suppose the dad was a close personal friend of Congressman Condit?
Bingo! That is exactly what is going on. We've had a school shooting in Santee, now mass shootings in Sacramento and SF. The gun control crowd have been silent on the issue. I guess they don't want to allude to the fact that gun control has been a failure in California. They are patiently biding their time waiting for a shooting to happen in a state with leniant gun laws before they resume screaming.
That is one of the real paradoxes of S.F.
Many of the newly built homes are the result of tearing down the old ones and paying up to $300,000 for the lot which normally measures 25 x 125 feet. Bernal Heights is one of those areas where you will see some very expensive homes right next to some real dumps. It is the land that is valuable, not the houses.
That area gets really nice weather...but it is quite close to the Industrial Areas of Hunters Point and the Bayshore.
