Heard on yesterday's news...
Rosie O'Donnell's former body-guards are suing her. They recently discovered that she had secretly installed cameras and microphones in the guards' private living quarters and in their offices. ("For the Children," I imagine...)
Isn't she just wonderful? What more perfect example of "Animal Farm" -style communism, selfishness, and hypocrisy? All human rights MUST be protected -- unless I want to break them in my own self-interest.
Heard elsewhere that she is mentally ill and generally imploding. Too bad.

She is mentally ill as all of these Hollywood nuts are. It's a requirement to be such before entering that zone. And BTW wouldn't you be crazy if you got up ever morning & starred at the mug in the mirror.

I'm no fan of Rosie's. I'd never work for her as a bodyguard or in any other capacity, much less live or work on her property. Having said that, I do feel, that while on her property, she has a right, if not a responsibility to keep tabs on what everyone is doing there. Now that I have sided with Rosie, I am compelled to go bathe. Maybe even drown myself.

a responsibility to keep tabs on what everyone is doing there bathroom cams? yikes.
To: pabianice
Rosie with her superior ethics, morals and intelligence will probably shoot herself in the head using a pistol to show the world how dangerous guns are.

I despise Rosie. Her grating voice makes me physically ill. Her politics are disturbing.
However, this is HER house. I don't want anyone telling me whether or not I am allowed to use surveillance in MY home; so she should be afforded the same rights.

It's an all or nothing proposition. Either she trusted the people she hired or she didn't. While I personally would not hire, or allow anyone onto my property that I did not trust, it's apparent Rosie did. I believe bathroom cams would be shot down in court under the reasonable expectation of privacy; however, anything those employees did pretty much anywhere else on her property is fair game. I'm not going to spend a whole lot of time defending Rosie here, but if I would hire a dog sitter to feed my pet while I was on vacation, I d@mn sure reserve the right to monitor whether or not he/she was going through my desk, underwear drawer, etc. while I was away. While I have friends and family I would trust implicitly with my key, perhaps Rosie has no such person, and must hire people to keep house. She has every right to ensure that what goes on in her house while she is away is legit.

Wash your mouth out with soap !
Rosie's a pig.

I hate Rosie! Even though she is a fat, ignorant bagadoughnutslesbiancarpetmuncherclambumper, I'm man and American enough to defend her private property rights. To do less would to be like her...

Don't drown yourself just was off good, your partially right, I beleive.
She does have the right to do what she wants in her house, but doing it with out their knowledge,
in their living quarters crosses the line a bit. But she still may have the right to do so.
Any way, she justs wants to study these guys so she can learn to be a better man.
She keeps having trouble with the flap in her briefs, and her technique at the standup urinal needs work.

"but doing it with out their knowledge, in their living quarters crosses the line a bit..."That depends on the hiring agreement and residential contract these folks had. (coughing hairball) Just as no one is under any obligation to submit to urinalysis, (GOD, I can't believe I'm defending Rosie) no employer is obliged to hire prior to a contract. (wretch coming on)While I'm convinced Rosie is as dumb as a box of rocks, she may have stipulated surveillance as a condition of employment (dry heave) and maybe these guys signed up for it and were even dumber and didn't read the fine print, dazzled by the celebrity of their employer (gag). Who knows.

"...i(sic) have never hired a babysitter for my kids... its family or ill stay home." I agree completely. I would not trust a stranger to take care of my house or pets, much less children. If I hire the neighbor kid to so much as wash my car or mow my lawn, I reserve the right to monitor what he does while he's on my property. Whether I do that visually, by CCTV, audio cassette or whatever other means is irrellevant.
