Thank you for the link. I went there and it looks interesting. I will revisit tomorrow and see about getting into some groups. Right now No.1 son is hollering for me to come watch the Razorbacks beat Tennessee. BTW, is there any newsgroup a freeper might find interesting? parsy.

Were these threads really necessary, particularly during the middle of a fund raiaer? There was no reason to post this unless it's a neener-neener-boo-boo "I'm in charge now and everybody look out!" statement.

"abused their authority and lauded it over us peons."
Thanks for the spelling lesson, HG. 8^) Did you mean 'lording it over us?'
So many mistakes, so few corrections - lol. (I appreciate yours, really)

What precautions are in place..?
The oversight and live review of all actions by Jim Robinson, John Robinson and myself - we don't miss much.

I think moderators are sort of spooky. If it is just a matter of "breaking news" categories, that is quite simple. However, I have heard some posters on some threads that they think they are self-appointed thread police. Such activity does diminish the mission statement of Jim Robinson. And if a topic is posted that is part of the dialogue of current politics, those articles should not be pulled, as some, of late, have been.
To: Silly
You had some good questions on the first thread that deserve answers - hope to get that done soon, and thanks!
To: parsifal
BTW, is there any newsgroup a freeper might find interesting Yep :-)

Remember: These newsgroups are unmoderated. That means foul language of all kind, insults, threats, nuclear sized flame wars, spam, etc., are the norm there. Free speech reins. There is no one you can complain to that will listen. Most, if not all ISP's couldn't care less what their members do on the usenet newsgroups.
Here's another link for you. A newsgroup reader called Free Agent (It's free software): http://www.forteinc.com/agent/freagent.htm
(As I understand it, you can't use this software with AOL)
A tip: If you post to newsgroups, spammers use software to strip email addresses from the newsgroups so that they can send you junk mail and sell your email address to more spammers. Be sure to change your email address to something phony. (You'll notice in the newsgroups that lots of others do this)

Never bait a moderator...

I have all the confidence in the world in Jim and John Robinson. Don't be offended if I'm a little skeptical about anyone else. We've seen it happen before. Time will tell.
To: mrsmith, John Robinson
Best to ask systm questions of John Robinson. He is the progamming magician extraordinaire.

"Were these threads really necessary.."
Management thought so... and FYI, there are many other threads that take far greater number of eyes than this does. Just for fun, see the list of top articles to see what everyone spends their time looking at.
To: Admin Moderator
Management thought so... Management also supported the old coven for a while. Who are you?

Take a look at some of the prior threads for reasons posts are pulled. Mostly the participants make that decision, not us. We can not oversee, nor do we want to, every post.. but when flame-wars break out and things get nasty, we would rather pull the entire thread than spend time trying to sort out who made the most egregious posts and who started what. We don't have time for that.
Keep dialog civil and something you would not be ashamed to have young children read, and our job of pulling posts would disappear.
