Gun toting babes. Alright!
Seriously though, I don't blame them one bit. A 100 lb girl is no match for a 200lb guy, and probably can't outrun one, but a .40 caliber changes the whole sitution. Next time, I hope the guy gets his d*** shot off.

Campus Police Capt. Bob Chaffee; It must be embarrassing when a 23 year old woman has bigger balls than you do!

The woman, a Colorado State University economics major who asked to be only identified as "Annie," was given the gun by Rocky Mountain Gun Owners, a pro-gun lobbying group that had also trained Annie to use the weapon. Speaking at a press conference called by the gun group on the CSU campus, Annie brandished her new gun permit before the crowd and said she had also received a concealed weapons permit to carry the gun on campus.
Does anybody know these guys?

Rocky Mountain Gun Owners From http://www.rmgo.org:
Based in Denver, Colorado, Rocky Mountain Gun Owners is Colorado's largest state-based gun lobby. It is a group solely dedicated to the Second Amendment of the U.S. Constitution. Our strategy is simple: don't give an inch.

SaraJoy Pond, a 20-year-old graphics design major, said she is uncomfortable knowing someone sitting next to her in class may have a gun. "I don't think it solves the problem. I wouldn't carry a gun," she said. What an idiot! Why on earth is she imagining? Is that gun going to all of a sudden just start shooting?
SaraJoy, baby, I hope to goodness you don't ever have to defend yourself from a criminal attack, because you evidently don't have a clue!

Another lady figured out she had to take care of herself. The police can't.
Good for her!

...university officials would prefer students rely on safety measures, including escorts and increased security... I carry, my boss/sweetie carries, if I have kids I would like them to teach them to carry, but unfortunately i think the overwhelming majority of female college students today should carry a tube of KY instead of a firearm.
I suspect most of these kids, products of "self esteem" and "non-competitive" curricula will be completely helpless if they are faced with a situation that requires courage, determination, coolness under pressure, and the willingness to use lethal force.
At least the KY might reduce tissue damage in the event of a rape.

Come on, NRA --- don't miss this PR coup. If a student cannot afford the permit --- GIVE THEM A PERMIT SCHOLARSHIP. What is wrong with the PR department? Come on, Chuck.

Anyone remember the old bumper sticker--
"Nobody ever raped a .38"
--used to see them on pickup trucks in Tucson.
To: Dan from Michigan
"I don't think it solves the problem..." You don't, eh? What would--making rape illegal?
"...I wouldn't carry a gun,"
That's what the rapist is counting on. Now that your name is public he can look you up and pay you a visit.......idiot.

"Gun toting babes. Alright!"
I would imagine looking down the barrel would cool the ardor of most perps.
The boys would be achieving Guinness Records qualifying times in the 'minimum time elapsed in loss of erection' category. ;^)

Campus Police Capt. Bob Chaffee said officials are trying to discourage other students from getting gun permits. "It doesn't strike me that it makes the campus any safer to have a lot of guns on campus," he said. The words of someone who has a firearm when everybody else doesn't.

SaraJoy Pond, a 20-year-old graphics design major....
SaraJoy should carry a couple of condoms. Maybe she could talk her rapist into using them so she doesn't get a death sentence a couple of years after the rape.
I'm also aware of the rape case where the victim asked the rapist to wear a condom and at his trial, he implied that it was consensual because she asked him to use one.

To get a permit in Larimer County, applicants are required to take a handgun safety course, pass a background check and pay a $130 fee. The permits are good for as long as the sheriff stays in office. What a way to make sure you get re-elected!
