"I don't think we should make excuses for murder," Bishop Imagene Stewart of the African American Women's Clergy Association said during Thursday's demonstration. "If we let her get away with this, other women — who are mad at their husbands — will do it too, and just plead insanity."

Alleluia, Bishop. You nailed it.

Backpeddling again? What a bunch of spineless ninnies. They ought to hold the line on their support of post-birth abortion procedures for any woman who wants to take matters "into her own hands."

According to psychologists' notes included in the court filings, Russel Yates had been pressuring his wife to come home from the hospital and get off her medication so that they could have more children... One therapist who treated Yates noted that "patient and husband plan to have as many babies as nature will allow. This will surely guarantee further psychosis and depression." ...Russel Yates, who has expressed his support for his wife, has obtained his own legal counsel and is refuting the claims his wife's attorneys have made in the court papers.

As much as I think that Andrea wasn't truly insane, I have always suspected there is way more to Russell than meets the eye. His tear-free press conference when mourning his children reminded me of the reaction of Lisa Blair Hathaway when her daughter, Jessica Dubroff, died in a Cessna crash while trying to scam the world into thinking she was breaking a "youngest pilot" record.

Russell has his own lawyer now? Doesn't Andrea have a court appointed attorney, and he goes out and hires one for himself?

Nice to see NOW attempt to tap-dance backwards.

Linda Vester ripped a big bloody new one into a NOW spokeswoman on Fox news last night. It was funny. Imagine a woman reporter who didn't fall for the NOW spin, but went on the attack! NOW did not expact that.

REAL women love children and defend them with their all their might.

The husband is very creepy. I realize that she did the crime, but I wish there were some charges that he could be brought up on also! IMHO.

So I assume that you also want to bring up on charges, the wives of ALL men who have injured or killed their children, correct?

I mean, just to be consistent.

I missed Fox last night. Was the spokestwit the VP of NOW, Terry O'Neill, the one with the evil, Grinch-like smile?

I agree, but I'm not sure that being "creepy" is against the law. If there were, Larry Flynt, Algore, and maybe even "the big creep" would be rotting in jail right now!

Defending Clinton, oh so many more, and now defnding Yates. NOW leaders are doing a fine job of trivializing NOW.

Actually, moms who don't protect their children against a father's sexual abuse can be charged. It seems like there's probably more than enough evidence to prove that this father knew his children were being taken care of by someone......well.......crazy.

Ditto. Imagine blaming the media that have given these witches free press for how many years as they claim to represent women's interests.

"I don't think we should make excuses for murder," Bishop Imagene Stewart of the African American Women's Clergy Association said during Thursday's demonstration. "If we let her get away with this, other women — who are mad at their husbands — will do it too, and just plead insanity."

And oh yes, I am one of those right wing, religious wacko mothers they like to label on TV that thinks hiring an abortionist to kill a child is not feminine but evil!!

I wonder how many women get abortions to spite their boyfriends or husbands? Kate Michelman killed her child after a what else - a bitter divorce. I wonder if her other children ever miss their "terminated" brother or sister?

I'm sure after their phones and servers and offices got jammed with nasty-grams, they probably figured out they didn't have any public support. Can you say, "Out of touch with reality?"
