Why can't we freepmail the moderators in person if we have a problem?
To: Jim Robinson
"Those who steal my purse steal gold. Those who read my mind steal trash." Those who steal my purse can have it! Those who read my mind - please tell me what it says.
To: John Robinson
Now there's a CAPTAIN Moderator?!?!
If there is to be an Admiral Moderator, please make it Harrowup.
To: Humidston
No, we do not moderate the FRmail. We (John and I) do respond if someone complains about receiving abusive or unwanted FRmail. The posting rules of no personal attacks, no profanity, no threats, etc., also apply to FRmail. Really nasty or repeated abuse of FRmail can result in a loss of posting privilege.
To: Admin Moderator
If we Freep mail to Admin Moderator or Sidebar Moderator do all moderators of that classification get that mail and therefore anyone of them can answer or take it under consideration? I assume, if so, that that is vastly superior to the "abuse button" which should be reserved for urgent thread abuse.
To: Cyber Liberty
a "Bilderberger" sort of thing? uh oh, you're scaring the tinfoilers... hehe
To: dpwiener
Heh, heh. Let's keep this a secret.
To: logos
Well, now ... we just don't know, do we? My best advice is to wait till this thread dies, somewhere around 500+ replies, and check to see who hasn't posted. Betcha Trannie is one o' them!Obviously, a good subterfuge would then be to have the Admin Moderator get out of his superman cape and back into Clark Kent clothes and post a few innocuous comments.
To: Admin Moderator
So what's your regular handle when you ain't moderatin this here forum...
To: Storm Orphan
I'm going to reply to you here to keep this thread bumped, but I got your Freepmail and you should get something from me much later tonight. Thanks!
To: Lazamataz
Whoa! I just put this together! The Admin Moderator
is the mysterious Trannie, which means that the Sidebar Moderator has to be quidam!
Thanks!
To: Jim Robinson
Heh, heh. Let's keep this a secret.I have a seal's lips. :o)
To: Jim Robinson
The moderators are all long time and well respected members of the forum and they are trustworthy people.
*cough* The last time you told me that, I had to start a different forumn.... :)
Anyway... I can understand why you might want to conceal the identities of the Moderator, but is it possible to make available the 'results' of the moderation? I had heard posted elsewhere all the 'actions' were logged with reasons explaining the actions of the moderator. Would it be possible to expose that log?
A. It would give your members a sense of oversight and B. possible a better understanding of the problems FR faces in this area.
And C. I have difficulty keeping track of when A+Bert is banned and when he is not. :)

I assume, if so, that that is vastly superior to the "abuse button" which should be reserved for urgent thread abuse. All sidebar moderators share a mailbox for that userid.
As to reporting, the abuse button is best. It gets our attention a little quicker and there is a log of every abuse report. If you send us an email about a problem post, we won't know, while reading the email, if others have reported it or if other moderators have already acted on it.
When we're reading abuse reports, all of the latest abuse reports are right there in front of us for reference as well as what actions another moderator may already have taken.
Save the freepmail for communication and use the abuse button for just about everything else.
To: Ms. AntiFeminazi
Shhh. We can't let them know about us. ;^)

That's what I get for showing up late again.

This is as good a place as any to publicly thank you, by the way, for commuting
my sentencing and giving me parole.
Thanks, big guy.

difficulty keeping track of when A+Bert is banned and when he is not. that is probably the best example of how forgiving our host is that I know of. I think many marvel at that, and I marvel that so few come close to the example he sets.
