IMO, "in God we trust" on money and other public/government property puts government in the middle of some religions, while it implies ignorance of religions that don't acknowledge any God(s).
It fits the context of your posts where used.
They are not geared toward any one religion. Just as our money says 'In G-d we trust'. Not geared toward any one religion, and I think the founding fathers did this on purpose. jmo
Try enforcing that one. Good luck. You're going to need an awful lot of cattle cars to bring all us non-believers to internment camps for the ghastly crime of not honoring the religion of the State.
OUCH! ... is right.
They are all essentially the same....
Now how do think and feel about your tax dollars being used to support religion? I suspect the pro government/religion people detest the idea. I suspect the anti government/religion people think it's a fitting statement -- in Satan we trust -- of the malevolent, criminal government -- politicians and bureaucrats -- we have today.
Proof: It has been proven that the Earth is round. It has been proven that the Earth is not the center of the Universe. It has not been proven that Santa Clause (flying reindeer with fat man in red suit and sleigh in tow) exists. Santa Clause does not exist. Belief has nothing to do with it. It has not been proven that God exists. God does not exist. Belief has nothing to do with it. Mysticism is the culprit.
(snicker)
It has been done for over 1,000 years. The church leaders had no problems with the geocentric model of the Universe (Heck no. They had all their livelihoods and future power of the church pinned on it.) That's what the Inquisitors proclaimed of Copernicus for his revealing that the Earth was not the center of the Universe. Are you angered at Copernicus for exposing the church's hoax. BTW, 1,700 years prior to Copernicus, Phoenician businessmen circumnavigated the Earth by sea and likely documented the fact that the Earth was not the center of the Universe. Unfortunately, the church crusades burned 600,000 manuscripts in Greek libraries/archives.
You (ClancyJ) do not have a right to use my money to pay to post religious doctrines on public property or your property. I didn't have my money extorted from me by the IRS to pay for support of your religion.
A million dollar lawsuit coming your way. But it will only cost you a dime if we can settle out of court. :)
I never asked you or anyone to pay to take them down. That's your straw man. I advocate that you stop using government by proxy to extort money from me to pay to support your religion. The point is, by proxy, you have been extorting money from me and using it to support your religion.

Re: Defense of the Ten Commandments
As a concerned citizen, I am calling on you to take decisive action to support the display of the Ten Commandments on the public property of our cities and towns.
It is outrageous that our courts are stripping the Ten Commandments from our public parks and buildings at a time when our society desperately needs moral guidance and direction.
I am calling on you to take two specific steps in support of the Ten Commandments:
#1-- Move quickly to sponsor and pass the Ten Commandments Protection Act" and similar bills that free our cities and towns to display the Ten Commandments on publicly owned property.
#2-- take a public stand by prominently displaying the Ten Commandments in your Congressional offices.
Our nation is in a cultural crisis. The Ten Commandments has become the defining symbol of this struggle for the soul of America. Please take action today to support the Ten Commandments. I will be monitoring this situation closely.
Personally, I think asking them to put it in their offices is a little too much which could kill the whole thing. Too many in office that are not believers.
This campaign calling it the 'Ten Commandments Protection Act' is rather deceptive, akin to calling a law preventing suits against food conglomerates the 'Apple Pie Protection Act.'
