Apparently, the Bush administration is willing to cover up treason and corruption at the highest levels of the previous administration in order to keep the tool of "deliberative process" so that it, too, can use the Justice Department for political purposes.

Are you absolutely certain of this AND that it is the only possibility?

There has been no mention by the Ashcroft DOJ that these documents are being withheld because it would compromise an ongoing investigation. These investigations are closed. The only investigation to be made is why they were closed--and Burton's doing that, not Ashcroft.

Time and time again on issue after issue the media has reported the position of the Bush administration erroneously. I think we better just wait and see where this goes. Bush may very well be setting the media up. Let us see if the media starts to attack a claim of Executive Privilege when and if Bush declares it publicly. I have a suspicion Bush will, shall we say, sucumb to the media pressure in a New York minute.
