Ya know, I hate these two line posts that do nothing to describe the action to those of us w/o radio or net-audio feeds.
It really pisses me off, in fact.

Rush was on fire today. I loved how he was calling the evil socialists the "democratics" because of the article saying they were tired to being referred to as the democrat party (because there is nothing "democratic" about them).

I thought he was going to blow a gasket during the 1:00PM EST monologue. There is little that he said that I can disaggree with. Rush wants to administration to be more assertive than it is along ideological lines as would we all. But saying it is one thing doing it is another. Bush needs all the help he can get to get his initiatives acted on by congress. As congress is evenly split along party lines with the republicans still in Clinton appeasement mode, He probably realizes that heavy bully pulpit rhetoric would only alienate the "moderates" whom he needs to have in line. As Bush is saying "We deal in the realm of the possible".
I think that Rush is talking a cue from Alan Keyes and ripping GWB for nod being more stridend. But Bush to be successful most walk a fine line and deal a little here and a little there. The bully pulpit will follow as success is acheived. Bush has been in office only 8 months. Give him time.

For those of you who thought that Rush was out of touch, you missed a passionate "in touch" scorcher today on Rush. IMHO.Didn't miss a thing -- the Rush threads have been getting yanked today.
(Which is fine by me. Don't need a new Rush thread every time he belches on air.)

Rush really ripped El Loco Dicko a good one today, and I sent him a good long e' thanking him for it.

Hey... I just had a thought. Maybe Paula Zahn is going to CNN to screen calls for Rush. ;-)
What a lead weight around the neck that would be......

We all need to tell anyone who may listen that Social Security is a fraud, a political Ponzi Scheme contrived and mandated by socialists. Nothing about it actuarily sound. It is a socialist mechanism to buy today's vote with tomorrow's dollar. The Baby Boomer generation will break the bank.
The reason that the Democrats are so anxious about any "budget surplus", is that soon Congress must redirect general revenue taxes with FICA tax payments into the furure, because they have been redirecting FICA taxes into general revenue since FDR. There is no "trust fund", no "lock box", no truth that "a promise is a promise". The SCOTUS has ruled that the government owes no obligation to Social Security recipients for their taxes paid into the system over the decades. NOTHING.
Younger working taxpayers will be forced to support old folks with half their pay check rather than support their own young families, at the tax rate required to keep SS at current levels. It will happen until those younger tax payers refuse to pay or have the political voting strength to "stop payment". Only the greedy demand other peoples' money.
The SS idea is as bankrupt as the financial schemes to keep socialists in FICA tax money buying votes. Only the stupid don't know this.
