Reno Gathers Cuban Supporters (Barf Alert?)
Southwest Florida Fox Affiliate | 9/04/01 | My Favorite Headache

Posted on 09/04/2001 6:10:15 PM PDT by My Favorite Headache

Just heard that a group of 300 Cuban Americans are coming out in support for Janet Reno in the Cuban Community on the local Fox station on the west coast of Florida here in the Ft. Myers/Naples area. There is a HUGE Hispanic community here and the one guy they just showed was just shown saying " Yes we know all too well about her involvement with the Elian case, but she did her job and what she had to do to bring a father and son together and I believe people realize that and we are here to let her know that not every Cuban is voting in 2002 for Jeb Bush."

I will post more when I see the full report on this at 11. Supposedly they are starting or have started some Democratic Cubans For Reno 2002 campaign. The Cuban vote is not a lock after all.

It's not so much a "gathering" as it is a ROUND UP. Janet has lots of experience with those.

As I understand it, there were some Cubans in Miami who favored sending Elian back -- mostly Cubans who want to open travel business to Cuba. Right? They're a small minority, right?

"Realistic figures here.."

Dear headache......if you don't think the pubbies are little more wired to the Florida politics this time around.....I suggest you slink your way back to DemoRATS.com......after all, that is where your kind of spin comes from. If Reno runs against Jeb Bush, I suggest that the clinton machine will have finally met it's match. I relish it......apparentely hitlery and bill have forgotten what it felt like to slink out of the White House in disgrace.....as thieves.......

That last sentiment isn't something I would wish on her. She's already too ill to perform the job. But more importantly, she's a flaming lib with no conscience. Oh wait, Americans voted for one of those in '92 and '96.....

"The state's Puerto Rican population made a 95 percent gain in one decade, growing to 482,027, while the Mexican-American population grew by 125 percent, to 363,925. Combined, these two groups are slightly larger than the Cuban-American population of 833,120, which grew by just 24 percent."

Now you understand the whole "wet foot, dry foot" thing, while the border with Mexico is blown open?

No more Republican-voting immigrants allowed, bring on the Mexicans.

Called a friend of mine who works for the local press who is covering this very story. Got nowhere with the newsdesk freaks at Fox. Anyway he told me a woman (Anyone care to look into this please do , I am trying to meet a deadline at the same time here for a project) that a woman by the name of Vivian Sequera has been doing an investigation on the Cuban voting situation to follow in a series of reports for the Associated Press until the primary is over and it is a lock on Janet Reno as the nomination.

He also went on to say that the group represented today DID in fact have Mexican-Americans, Columbian Americans,Hatian Americans, and Cuban Americans. He was getting me their web address info and everything asap. He said there is already a drive to register labor workers and hospitality industry workers as voters and local Democrats who hold low positions have been going door to door in some neighborhoods already with information on where to register to vote and to become legal citizens if they are not already.

Boy this is sounding familiar already. I can't wait for the list of names to see who is out knocking on doors.I will pass along the e-mail addresses and every bit of info as usual as I get it. So you guys and gals saw right through this from the start as usual.LOL.

The FOX guy who answered the phone told me he really did not know much about the story and that they were going to cover the Reno story and that was all he knew. But that they would be doing alot on Reno and Jeb in the coming months locally so to stay tuned. Yeah...blah...blah...blah.

If this women takes Florida, I will truely loose all faith in this states future. I don't believe she will though.

A lot of people said the same thing about that excuse for a woman with the New York mailing address, who is now a U.S. Senator. Whatever you do, don't sit with your back to the door.

It is troubling Doc, there are about 300 Cubans out of 1.5 million that support Reno.........then again, there appeared to be quite a few natives who chose Al Gore in this past elections, 49,222,339 to be exact.

See, it happens in the best of families.
