Strained allusions; the mind bends, weird illusions -- all pffft. Nothingness. No being. Just ... stuff.

I have yet to hear of a war caused by a scientific theory.

There have been and still are secular religions(marxism, nazism, for example) that called themselves scientific.

What you will not find is a war started by people with a skeptical temperament.

f. Christian is part of that pilot program to close the digital divide by giving Internet access to the street people.

For the discussion, a few recent observations concerning the speed of light:

SUPERLUMINAL LIGHT PROPAGATION. Scientists at the NEC Research Institute in Princeton have performed an experiment in which the group velocity of a light pulse traveling through a special medium appears to be faster than c, the speed of light in a vacuum, without, however, violating the principle of causality or the theory of relativity. Such experiments have been performed before and have exploited the fact that a finite pulse of light is necessarily the sum of an ensemble of waves at different frequencies. One therefore speaks of a "phase velocity" for component waves and the "group velocity" for the pulse as a whole. When such an ensemble enters a medium with a frequency-dependent index of refraction, interesting things start to happen. In a Harvard experiment last year, for example, the component light waves of a pulse passing through a Bose-Einstein condensate were affected in such a way as to yield a group velocity of only 17 m/sec (Hau et al., Nature, 18 February 1999). Working in the other direction, manipulating the component waves in order to achieve a higher group velocity, is more difficult to establish since it usually occurs when the index of refraction is varying rapidly in a frequency range where the light is being absorbed by the medium; hence the light pulse can be severely distorted or attenuated, making it difficult to detect superluminal effects. In the NEC experiment, by contrast, the medium in question, a cell filled with a gas of cesium atoms, does not absorb light at the crucial frequencies but actually enhances the light through a type of laser action; that is, the cesium atoms are promoted into an excited state and contribute to the light pulse when it travels through. Consequently the pulse shape is largely preserved even as the component waves interfere (through a process called anomalous dispersion) in such a way as to shift the pulse forward in time by a tiny amount, about 1.7% of the original pulse width, compared to the situation in which the cell is not present. According to the NEC researchers, "the peak of the pulse appears to leave the cell before entering it." This superluminal behavior does not contradict the principles of Einstein's relativity theory, but it might well encourage further discussion among scientists about how exactly to specify the onset of light signals. LIMITS ON THE COSMIC EVOLUTION OF THE FINE STRUCTURE CONSTANT. Denoted by the Greek letter alpha, the fine structure constant sets the absolute strength of the electromagnetic force at work inside atoms and in the cosmos. Besides this, alpha incorporates within itself several of the other important fundamental constants of nature, and is defined as 2 times pi times the charge of the electron squared, divided by the product of the speed of light and Planck's constant. If alpha has changed over the eons, then part of the redshift exhibited by the spectra of distant galaxies would not be attributable exclusively to the expansion of the universe, thus throwing off many astrophysics calculations. Hence it is desirable to troll for different physical constants in past epochs much as one scans core samples from Greenland to gather fossil bits of ancient air trapped in the ice layers A new comparison of the 21-cm-wavelength emission of hydrogen atoms in distant radio galaxies with that of terrestrial hydrogen reduces the systematic uncertainties by an order of magnitude relative to previous studies using this technique and suggests that any non-expansion contribution to redshifts would be in the fifth decimal at best. Equivalently, the measured limit on proportional change in alpha is less 3.5 x 10^-15 per year out to a look-back time of 4.8 billion years. This study was carried out by astronomers at the National Radio Astronomy (Chris Carilli, 505- 835-7000, ccarilli@nrao.edu), Max Planck Institute (Bonn), University of Colorado, Space Telescope Science Institute, Netherlands Foundation for Research in Astronomy, Kapteyn Research Institute (NL), Onsala Space Observatory (Sweden), and Harvard Smithsonian. Evolutionists believe that the universe began in chaos and is evolving toward perfection

No we don't.

That's right in a way. Evolution is a pseudoscience and not real science.

For the full article, go to the site: Creation Science .

No need to. I mean, I don't need anybody to tell me that some aspects of creationism are stupid. The only claim I make is that, stupid as any aspect of creationism or anything else might be, there is no such thing on this Earth as a theory which sounds stupid compared to evolution.

Consider some of the testimonials you read from people who have tried the talk.origins/Ediacara indoctrination system on the WWW. For instance, Marty Z. Renfield writes:

"I'd tried everything; drugs, narcotics, weeklong drinking bouts; I'd listened to rap music at ear-splitting levels for days on end; I'd taken all of the yuppie science courses at our local community college, and I'd worked for years at becoming both politically and scientifically correct, but nothing helped. Nothing I could think of or do was making me STUPID enough to get that big government grant. As you can see in the before picture, I had achieved some noticable results, but I just wasn't where I needed to be.

The after picture shows me today, after the brain-deadening effects of the Ediacara propaganda/indoctrination program on the WWW. This program has turned my whole life around. I now drive a BMW and can take my pick of government grants and research projects.

Thank you, Chris!!!

Granted that might be the best the "Juniors", "PatrickHenry's" etc. etc. of the world can hope for but most people can do better. Check out the Bearfabrique Evolutionism Page for details.
