President Trump announced Tuesday that he had reached an agreement with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to stop US aid to Israel after the end of the year.
“They don’t need it,” Trump said on Fox & Friends Tuesday morning.
“We give them more than anybody else, and they no longer need it. We’ve been doing it for years. I’ve been doing it, but Israel is a very thriving country. They don’t need it. If they did need it, I would say keep it going.”
The president said the idea came from Netanyahu himself, suggesting that the agreement was also made to stop Democrats from using US funding to Israel as ammunition to criticize Republicans.
“He brought it up. He brought it up,” Trump said of the Israeli leader.
“He said, ‘I think it would be appropriate if we do not receive aid,’ because he understands that this is one of their points of contention.”
Trump said the roughly $4 billion in aid is “the best talking point that these lunatics on the left have.”
“Why should we suffer the slings from lunatics like El-Sayed?” he asked, referring to Michigan Democratic Senate nominee Abdul El-Sayed, who has made Israel aid a flagship issue of his campaign.
However, the president insisted that the Jewish state will still be able to buy American weapons.
Asked whether arms sales were also ending, Trump said, “Oh yes, they can buy whatever they want.”

Great point!
I’m in favor of eliminating ALL foreign aid!
Does this affect the aid Congress(or members of) will get?
$4 billion is a fraction of the fraud that taxpayers get ripped off for every year.
Now every other country too please. We are totally insolvent already.
Hmmmm. I see wiggle room in the comment, they can have it if they need it. I would really like to see a reduction in foreign aid Middle Eastern countries.

1) End the aid to all the muzzie countries as well.
2) If Israel can indeed “buy whatever they want”, without the “aid” they do so with fewer strings attached. That could be a very good thing.
No country can be a great power without "pay to play." Your interests will simply be ignored, your enemies will outmaneuver you, or you will have to achieve your foreign policy goals by force.
And the trillions we spent defending Europe.
And South Korea, Japan, Australia, etc al?
Not to mention our men in harms way.
At least Israel uses their own people.
What? No federal judge issuing a stay? Joe Biden not making a call to restore it? “Well, son of a bitch”.....
I don’t see any wiggle room.
It’s “no money, but they can buy.”
What’s the wiggle room?
The only thing affected are our weapons manufacturers.
The aid was limited to buying things made in the USA, largely to prevent Israel from becoming a competitor to our plane makers.
Ditto - end most foreign aid - unless we get substantial returns
The unhinged ramblings of this jihadist shouldn't affect our decisions one iota.
So he is stopping aid to Israel in order to get El-Sayed to shut up? I’m just trying to wrap my head around the idea of Trump essentially bowing to El-Sayed’s demands (which are also the demands of AOC, Ilhan Omar, Mamdani, etc.), and announcing it on the morning of election day. Can someone explain this to me like I’m from Rio Linda?
“...If they did need it, I would say keep it going...”
I think people are reading this as Israel doesnt need it right now but that doesnt mean it cant change if Israel suddenly were to need it.
Of course, military aid and assistance are another thing altogether.
Copied and pasted from the other thread.
Close the borders to all but diplomats and US citizens and eliminate all foreign aid.
That's about one "Learning" Center.
