The Greenwich woman who appeared to have her phone swatted away by Gov. Ned Lamont on Saturday as she attempted to ask him a question told News 8 on Sunday that she is unlikely to seek criminal charges.
The woman, Jackie Homan, identified herself as a reporter for a local conservative media outlet. She was filming on her phone’s camera as she approached the governor at a Saturday morning campaign event at Scalzi Part in Stamford.
She began asking Lamont about a traffic incident involving one of his close advisors, Rob Blanchard of Newtown, who was issued an infraction two weeks ago for failing to obey an officer directing traffic around a construction zone. No one was injured in the incident.

“What is this about?” Lamont appears to ask.
The video shows Lamont raising his left hand and swatting toward the woman’s camera. The back of Lamont’s hand appeared to make contact with the phone, pushing it away. Homan immediately protested.
“This doesn’t look like it’s a fair deal to me,” Lamont said as he turned his back and walked away.
“You’re not supposed to be touching my camera,” Homan said. “That’s assault.”

“The governor’s actions constituted a Class C misdemeanor under Connecticut law,” a Fazio campaign statement claimed.

She is an idiot for not pressing charges.
So what if true? Your a public figure, sitting governor in a a election year running for 3rd term. Deal with tough questions.
I sort of understand as it is CT and I doubt any judge will he harsh on the sitting Governor.
It will still be on their record and will be something they have to deal with. it will set up contradictions in their voter base, too.
Leftists are violent. It’s not a trend it’s the status quo.
Saw that on Facebook... I hope Ryan Fazio will win...

Good one, love it. I miss well crafted movies.
I think I read that James Caan improvised the part where he throws money at the photographer after destroying his camera. Perfect touch.
Yes, the tossed money was perfect. Genius.
Same. I’m very impressed with his campaign.
No. It's battery. Unwanted intentional contact with your person OR ANYTHING ATTACHED TO YOUR PERSON constitutes battery.
