Perhaps, but #1 Joe Biden established this (arguably) sleazy precedent. and #2 Given the Democrats penchant for lawfare (and hinted at by Elissa Slotkin), it just be the required strategy given the political landscape of our times.
By the end of President Trump’s term, it’s possible he will issue thousands of pardons if a Dem is elected President.

They should get Pre-emptive Pardons for Skipping subpoena’s if that doesn’t fly, the day after they skip a hearing they should get a Pardon and he should be very public about it (I’m sure that won’t be a problem).
