The “Squad” won’t just be a fringe faction in the new House.
The far-left group that began with the 2018 election of Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is set to be a substantial block whose members are itching to leverage their newfound power to try to turn their sprawling agenda — abolishing ICE, Medicare for All, expanding gender-affirming care, and government-run supermarkets — into action.
The radical clique is set to double from the current core of seven to as many as 16 after a series of primary wins, election experts say – a number that swells to two dozen when counting left-wing progressives who share some views but are not closely connected to the Democratic Socialists of America.
Much depends on the size of any Democratic majority.
If the Democrats win a slim advantage just north of a 218-vote majority on Tuesday, the expanded “Squad” plays an even bigger role — with the ability to tank House rules developed by the leadership and force votes on controversial amendments.
Republicans warn “lunatics” running the Democratic Party would set out on “woke wild goose chases,” dragging Democrats into ideological battles at the expense of more mainstream priorities, RNC spokeswoman Delanie Bomar told The Post.
“These communist wannabes would hold [likely Speaker] Hakeem Jeffries hostage until he helps them turn America into a socialist hellhole.”
Mainstream Dems are also worried.
“They’re going to cause problems. They’re going to try to dominate the narrative,” a former Democratic leadership aide told The Post, predicting socialists would jockey for powerful committee assignments and gain other levers of power within the system.
“Squad” size isn’t the only thing that matters, critics said.

Fortunately, at present, anything that gets passed in the house has to then pass the senate.
It then goes to Trump for a signature. Trump will veto anything that the democrat-controlled house passes (he has already said he will do this).
It takes 67 votes in the senate to override a presidential veto, which the senate will not have after the mid-terms.
We have two years...
Import the third world and get third world politics
Very generally, America’s society and politics will increasingly resemble that of South America, and bounce among the extreme bounds of marxism, nationalism, statism, highly political government, corruption, inflation and debt.

Unless the bill had something that Trump really wants. Or something that the country really needs.
In other words, what Trump said is probably just a well-intentioned bluff.
Folks,
There is going to be a fight, let’s get is started and over with.
We are all have to join in the fight. There are many little things to do. Look for them.
Get used to the idea that your liberty is going to cost you.
That’s how I see it, too— at least so far as the legislative aspect goes. Another 2 years of gridlock, investigation side-shows, and budget show-downs.
The worthless R House and Senate have done to Trump the same thing they did in his first term. Whenever we handed them the presidency, the House, and Senate, they’ve done nothing but stonewall. Then, blame it all on Trump. Makes me sick.

I thought the US Congress was full of multi-millionaires - even the barmaids and the skinny grifters. What’s not to love?
True, but by then the economy, gas prices, etc. will be in great shape and a less antagonizing candidate leading the pack.
Trump hate fuels them and that will be gone for a vast majority of the donks.
Cheap gas, economy booming, crime down, jobs aplenty, deportations continue, ME peace, nuke threat done, housing prices down, perhaps another Trump judge on the SC, voting reform and much more if we can bury the bastards next week.
And, even if we can’t bury the bastards next week, their influence will get a big bad veto.
The Democrats had the same attitude when Dubya was President. Remember?
More than a couple of them are concentrated in NY where the possible next speaker Jeffries will have that problem. They’ll control him and find another New Yorker to take him out.
Medicare for all is nothing more than a power grab so THEY can decide what treatment you get based on who you voted for..and illegals will get first dibs at everything meanwhile you will be waiting two yrs to see a doctor IF you are lucky
The Dem House will be a crapshow. Carville knows it.
