California liberals move to red Texas, keep voting Democrat, and longtime residents sound alarm
In McKinney, Texas, California transplants explain why they're voting Democrat despite leaving a blue state, as Republicans fear a political shift.
McKinney, Texas, is ground zero for the migration of voters from California to Texas over the past several years. On Election Day, it is these newcomers who may well tip the balance not just in the Senate and governor's races.
They may also decide whether the once ruby red Lone Star State will continue to grow bluer.
I met Oren at The Celt on the picture-postcard town square, where we played a friendly game of pool. He moved from California about a year ago "because it’s a lot cheaper to live" but is voting for Democrats because he believes that Texas needs "more social services and public transit" and more support for transgender kids.

Why the hell would anyone uproot their family to move out of a Leftist hell-hole, only to take their putrid politics to infect some formerly happy area that was not infected with those politics?
Same for people who come to America to “escape” their country, only to bring the bad parts of their country with them?
I live in a very blue state, and never in a million years would I think of exporting any of this anti-American jackassery to an innocent, un-infected state.

I know many family and friends that moved here from CA and CO to know their voting habits. We talk politics regularly.

So don’t hate all the transplants. I read a research article that shows that transplants vote percentage wise more conservative than native born.
I am extremely conservative, but I would bear the brunt of the climate created by those leftist douchebags described in the article. Who could blame them if they wanted to shoot me on sight.
I would readily submit to truth serum and an extensive litmus test to get accepted in those states, just so I could say “I’m not one of those a**holes.”
I’ve read elsewhere ideas that contradict the central premise of this article. One is that apparently one factor that helped Ted Cruz defeat Beto O’Rourke was the transplanted Republicans from places like CA and elsewhere. Otherwise, run for the hills folks or you’ll be up to your armpits in Dem voters.

Red states/areas are generally nicer places to live. Even rats like a nice place to live.
It won't be stopped by a dotted state line on a map, or a gigantic earthquake that drops a state into the sea.

I once saw that California migrants in Arizona vote redder than those born in Arizona. So I expect it’s more of a split, and isn’t moving the needle that much.
