A Latino lawyer has filed a misconduct complaint against a Black federal judge after she accused him of being 'intimidated by Black excellence' in light of his 'White mediocrity.'
Attorney Ezra Young was repeatedly insulted over his perceived race by US District Judge Ada Brown during a hearing in federal court in Dallas, Texas, on April 24, according to court documents cited by Bloomberg Law.
Brown, a Black woman with Native American ancestry, had called the hearing to determine whether Young should face sanctions over his conduct while representing a Black law professor who sued Southern Methodist University after being denied tenure.
The hearing came months after Brown revoked Young's ability to practice in her courtroom.
'I think what's happening here, quite candidly, is you are very intimidated for some reason, Mr Young, with Black excellence, in light of your White mediocrity. Yeah. Right?' Brown said, according to the transcript.
'You should write that down. I mean you look like a White man, right?'
When Young told the judge he was Latino, she questioned his appearance.
'Well, you are White presenting; is that fair to say?' Brown said, according to the transcript.
Young acknowledged that he was 'fair-skinned,' but Brown went on to accuse him of having 'White privilege' after he argued that his client had not received key evidence in her case.
'You're the White savior, come to save all the stupid Black lawyers in Texas who need your help, from New York,' Brown added.
Young said he was 'disgusted and mortified' by the suggestion that he was prejudiced against Black people. ***
'I have to ask you, Mr Social Media, Main Character Chad, White Hero, Savior, Loves to Help Black People Be an Ally, where the lynching in this case came from?' she added. ***

They believe this, but somehow it is bad to think highly of one’s race if one is white. I don’t care who appointed her, she is not qualified to sit on the bench.
That should be a judicial career Death Penalty.
Imagine it.
A helpless Hispanic lawyer was accused of being a white person.
Oh - the trauma!
I suggested a simple exercise to my wife, who is a school teacher, for Black History Month (which is celebrated in the classrooms of Austin, Texas). Take stock of the items that have affected civilization in a meaningful way. Even just look around your own house. Then ask yourself, “Who invented this?” You will quickly learn about excellence.
At all.
She was put on the state bench by Rock Perry, and on the federal bench ch by Trump. This is Texas, not a blue state where we can only get nominees on the bench with the approval of rat senators. She obviously racist and too stupid to hide it. How did this happen?
Narcissistic personality disorder - Personality disorder that involves an excessive preoccupation with issues of personal adequacy, power, prestige and vanity.
Appointed by Trump in 2019. A DEI masterpiece.
In an optimal world, Elon Musk should be in charge of hiring and Trump in charge of firing.
... appointed by Trump in 2019.
If Republicans lose the U.S. Senate on Tuesday, zero Trump judicial nominations - including the Supreme Court - are going to be approved.
She is not black presenting based on that picture. Time to hit the tanning bed to gain some authenticity
I don’t disagree, but I doubt Trump was personally involved. The President gets presented with tons of appointments of different types by staffers whom he trusts and largely rubber stamps their recommendations. Likewise when Perry put her on the state bench. Staffs of both the governor for and the president screwed up. It’s just not possible that someone so stupid as to express these sentiments from the bench, but completely fooled the vetters in the first place that she was smart and reasonable
Not to mention his first term was riddled with backstabbing aides, complicated by the fact that he did not know yet, how utterly corrupt Washington politics is. But he now knows, and what a difference that has made.
However, this article is not the first problem:
In 2026, two judicial misconduct complaints were filed against Brown, including one by Jennifer Walker Elrod, Chief Judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. A judicial investigation committee subsequently accused Brown of mishandling the cases in front of her, making racial insults to other judges and court staff, and abandoning her role; the committee went on to find there was a "reasonable basis" to determine that Brown was suffering from a mental health condition, and recommended she be temporarily stripped of her docket while a full misconduct proceeding plays out.
The workload has apparently caused her to lose it...not everyone can handle being a judge. She should probably resign and rest up...not sure she should be disbarred but she should no longer wear a robe.
The fact that the Hispanic lawyer waited six months to file a complaint makes me suspicious.
Maybe this Black female judge - appointed by Trump - actually is a Conservative?
“I think you are very intimidated with Black excellence in light of your White mediocrity...”
...said he Affirmative Action hire.
Thank you for posting this. Perhaps the stress of the job has resulted in her racism coming out. I would often tell people that if they wanted to find parking for an early hour Friday happy hour in downtown Las Vegas, there is no better place than the reserved judges parking spots.
Apparently she had been a first rate prosecutor but has gone off the deep end. Not the first time she has demonstrated bizarre behavior on the bench. Underscores a chronic nationwide problem. Judges have been given extraordinary power and often lifetime appointments.Yet like all human beings they suffer at times from personality disorders , absurd bias, corruptibility and mental illness. Ordinary people are often grossly affected. Most times there is no redress. There ought to be state and federal Boards of Judicial Review where the complaints of ordinary citizens can be heard and reviewed.
I would presume he waited until the proceeding played out so he wasn’t in front of the judge.
