https://www.mlb.com/scores
Is a cool website because I can't see the stats (balls and strikes) on my TV. The font is too small. The weird thing is the website is like 30 seconds faster than the TV. So it feels like I am predicting the future. lol

Well, the good news is we can no longer say it’s money that makes a team great!
I mean, the brewers budget for players is so small that each player is asked to bring a baseball to practice!
The Dodgers budget for sunflower seeds exceeds the player budget for the entire brewers team!
I’m rooting for the underdogs tonight!
What a catch by Simpson!
Zero teams have ever come back from a 3–0 deficit to win the World Series.
Across all MLB best-of-seven postseason series, only one team has won four straight after falling behind 3–0:
2004 Boston Red Sox — came back to beat the New York Yankees 4–3 in the American League Championship Series. They then won the World Series.
The Tampa Bay Rays themselves came close in 2020: they led Houston 3–0 in the ALCS, but the Astros won three straight to force Game 7. Tampa won that decisive game.
So if Tampa falls behind 3–0 tonight, history says no World Series team has ever overcome that deficit.
The Brewers are the Braves’ New World.
19 World Series have ended in a conventional four-game sweep since the first in 1914. If you include two older series in which the winning team went 4–0 with one tie, the total is 21.
The last sweep was in 2012, when the San Francisco Giants beat the Detroit Tigers 4–0.
A few notable facts:
- New York Yankees: 8 conventional sweeps, the most of any franchise.
- Cincinnati Reds: Sweeps in 1976 and 1990.
- Boston Red Sox: Sweeps in 2004 and 2007.
- No sweep in the last 13 World Series seasons through 2025.
Tampa has had a great year, but I think they ran into a Milwaukee juggernaut. (while still invoking Yogi Berra’s first law of baseball…)
Getting ugly—8-0 Brewers, top 5.
The Rays are playing worse than they did in Milwaukee.
Mercy rule 😳
I stopped watching. It hurts too much.
Biggest World Series blowouts
| Year | Game | Final score | Winning margin |
| —— | ———————————— | -————— | ——————— |
| 1936 | Yankees vs. Giants | 18–4 | 14 runs |
| 2001 | Diamondbacks vs. Yankees | 15–2 | 13 runs |
| 1960 | Yankees vs. Pirates | 16–3 | 13 runs |
| 2007 | Red Sox vs. Rockies | 13–1 | 12 runs |
| 1982 | Cardinals vs. Brewers | 13–1 | 12 runs |
| 1968 | Tigers vs. Cardinals | 13–1 | 12 runs |
| 1951 | Yankees vs. Giants | 13–1 | 12 runs |
| 1960 | Yankees vs. Pirates | 12–0 | 12 runs |
The crowd looks and sounds like there are a lot of Wisconsin transplants now living in and around Tampa Bay.
Brewers are up 10-0 in the 5th. So I think you can say Tampa will be toast as no team has ever climbed back from a 3-0 hole in the world series.
Gotta get all 27.
Yet, the Pirates won the Series.
You have to go back to 1929 when the Philadelphia Athletics came back to beat the Chicago Cubs 10–8 in Game 4 after trailing 8–0.
Thanks AI
Uh, 10-0 Brewers.
They’re on their way to a sweep.
Unrecoverably, UGLY.
Game over in 5th
