EU leaders to press Burnham to pay more towards Ukraine’s defence

EU leaders will press Andy Burnham at a summit in Brussels to contribute more to Ukraine’s defence effort in 2027.

EU officials argue that the UK, Canada and Japan should do more to support Ukraine, but entreaties to these G7 countries for extra financial aid at recent international meetings have not been answered, Brussels says.

The European Commission president, Ursula von der Leyen, will call on the Canadian prime minister, Mark Carney, to contribute to Ukraine’s looming financial shortfall at an EU-Canada summit in Montreal next week.

A similar request to the British prime minister will be made when he meets von der Leyen and the European Council president, António Costa, for a long-awaited EU-UK summit on 20 November in Brussels. It comes as the UK chancellor, John Healey, prepares for his first budget next week, weighing numerous calls for more spending against the rising cost of government borrowing and a darkening economic outlook.

Healey said earlier this month he was “working on different ways we can step up support for Ukraine – military, diplomatic and economic”.

Ukraine says it faces a €70bn (£58bn) funding shortfall in 2027 to pay for its defence and civilian needs.

Every time we get a deal, Europe comes in to the rescue and millions more die. The enemy is the Deep State/NATO/WEF/King F’ing Charles/British Banking.

Every time we get a deal

Here we go again, another FReeper posting about some mythical 'deal'. Go ahead post a source to this deal that Z and Putin agreed to, it doesn't exist. The reason? Russian demands are maximalist:

Putin Demands:

Russia has demanded no NATO for Ukraine and no other alliances.

Russia demands Ukraine cede the entirety of the four provinces Moscow claims as part of Russia, including areas still held by Ukraine.

Russia demands Ukraine demilitarize: limit army to 600,000(1/2 current army) limits on number of tanks, artillery, planes and no missiles.

Russia demands Ukraine establish the Russian language as a co-official language.

Russia demands Ukraine to denazify, basically stop being Ukrainian.

Russia demands Ukraine reestablish the Moscow led Orthodox Church in Ukraine. The same one that declared a Holy War against Ukraine.

Russia demands a change in the leadership of Ukraine. I guess demanding a puppet government to be installed.

Russia demands amnesty for any war crimes

Russia demands changes to Ukrainian's constitution.

Russia demands Western peacekeeping troops are never allowed into Ukraine.

And Russia keeps adding to this list saying the "root causes" of this conflict have to be addressed.

If Ukraine agreed to this 'deal'(surrender) it would end up disarmed and without allies, completely defenseless to Putin's next invasion.

Baby Burnham can’t afford it, that budget item is gong toward sustaining the “migrant” invasion.

“Russia has demanded no NATO for Ukraine and no other alliances.”

Russia wants a neutral Ukraine I believe.

The US would not tolerate Russian missiles in Cuba.

The US had to pull missiles out of Turkey.

“Russia demands Western peacekeeping troops are never allowed into Ukraine.”

Russia doesn’t want NATO forces in Ukraine.

Western peacekeepers would cut and run as they did from Lebanon, Afghanistan, Iraq and South Vietnam.

I’m not sure if French peacekeepers are still in Africa.

“Russia demands Ukraine establish the Russian language as a co-official language.”

Canada has both French and English as official languages.

As for the US and Spanish, look around if voting in person.

“Russia demands Ukraine to denazify, basically stop being Ukrainian.”

I would think German-style anti-Nazi laws should suffice.

“Russia demands Ukraine reestablish the Moscow led Orthodox Church in Ukraine. The same one that declared a Holy War against Ukraine.”

The US allows Muslims to worship but has no official religion, yet.

“Russia demands changes to Ukrainian’s constitution.”

They might be necessary. Russia will want to hold certain areas forever.

unrealistic:

Russia demands Ukraine cede the entirety of the four provinces Moscow claims as part of Russia, including areas still held by Ukraine.

Russia demands Ukraine demilitarize: limit army to 600,000(1/2 current army) limits on number of tanks, artillery, planes and no missiles.

Russia demands a change in the leadership of Ukraine. I guess demanding a puppet government to be installed.

Russia demands amnesty for any war crimes.

“Ukraine says it faces a €70bn (£58bn) funding shortfall in 2027 to pay for its defence and civilian needs.”

The only way Ukraine will get money from the USA, UK or EU West is to tax its refugees living in those places.

British taxpayers shouldn’t be expected to cough up money when Ukrainian refugees are paying less than maximal Post-WW2 Labour government rates.

Russia wants a neutral Ukraine I believe.

Ukraine was neutral in 2014 before Putin seized Crimea. Vast majority about 70% of Ukrainians at the time were against joining NATO.

Japan? I think Japan has more concerns with a country much much closer. Of course they're not going to respond.
