A recent report from the Office of the Comptroller of Currency (OCC) in the Treasury Department shows that the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) was a driving force behind the debanking of conservative groups prior to its indictment.
The SPLC is a left-wing anti-racism advocacy group that has faced scrutiny from conservatives for years over its alleged bias against them and penchant for labeling mainstream political figures on the right as “extremists.”
The group has also faced withering criticism from the left, such as Ken Silverstein, who followed its expelled founder Morris Dees for years for Harper's and The New Yorker.
The Department of Justice (DOJ) has charged the SPLC with allegedly defrauding donors by paying exorbitant sums to members of extremist groups, both to act as informants and to recruit and expand their operations.
The SPLC has denied wrongdoing in the case, and said in a statement that "The charges against the SPLC are provably wrong; they are based on inaccurate facts and a misapplication of law. Our informant program was successful in accomplishing its purposes: Threats and attacks were prevented, criminal activity was stopped, and information was gathered to dismantle the efforts of hate and extremist groups."

Also, the leaders of SPLC should all be in prison.
By the standard SPLC uses, it should be listed as a “hate” org.

Exactly. The SPLC is evil, pure and simple. It needs to be out of business. Its purpose is to enrich itself by defaming legitimate conservative organizations and scaring people by fabricating violent hate groups out of thin air.
I’d like all their redundant organs in other people, too.
It’s not a torture penalty—it’s a gifting penalty, to help the less fortunate.
A liver lobe, a lung, a kidney, and some random tissue picked from a prize wheel each convicted miscreant gets to spin themselves.
If A interferes with B’s business with C, that can be considered a tort as I understand the law.
In the South, punitive damages in tort suits have long been allowed.
Maybe the bank accounts of the SPLC and key associates should be cleansed.

The SPLC was made by the democrats and media the authority and almost a government agency type final word on who and what was bad and dangerous.
The democrats and media have made leftist organizations as almost like the official representative voice for many subjects, at various times NOW for women, Planned Parenthood for women’s rights and medical, the ACLU, and all those other organizations that we can remember.
Just so you guys understand: There is NO WAY the major banks in the country will listen to some non-government organization telling them to de-bank certain people.
So SPLC did the groundwork, but the final say for de-banking came from the BANK REGULATORS, meaning the people in DC, specifically Biden’s Women and Obama.
The SPLC, NAG’s, PP, ACLU, and others. They demand total obedience to them. Opposition be banned. That’s CCCP for you.
Don’t your love the “It is a basic principle of American democracy that the government can’t selectively target individuals simply because of their political beliefs or what they say” group think UNLESS it’s a conservative in the bullseye!
It does not explain why tech startups and digital asset companies were debanked. Does not explain why firearms companies and energy companies were debanked.
The SPLC was not the one heading this, not by a long shot. this is a smoke screen.
The other factor is that there was no other voice to compete with the SPLC. We didn’t do our job.
